Jess2008
Hi AllSo, I started composting my kitchen waste and went out this morning to put more out. Imagine my dismay to discover that the foxes have burrowed under the bin and scattered all my kitchen waste round my garden. It was not a fun morning. Does anyone compost and have this problem? may I ask how you resolved this?I'm considering a wormery, but am just thinking that the foxes will get into this as well. Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/19711-advice-please-re-kitchen-compost-and-foxes/ Share on other sites
BB100
You ned to get some very strong wire netting and put it under the compost bin. It will also keep the rodents out as well. wee quinnie
What sort of compost bin are you composting in? I have never had a problem with foxes in ours - it is one of those big plastic green round things. I had a problme with rats at one point, but not since i stopped putting egg shells in. peterstorm1985
Were the foxes burrowing in the underside of the bin, or into the earth beneath it? My compost bin sits on paving slabs and that may be why I've never had a problem.
