Where do I get a coil fitted?

Hi I?ve never had a coil before, but I?m wanting to get a coil fitted. My surgery (Forest Hill) doesn?t do them - which surprised me?

Anyone else in the same boat?

Thank you so much, I actually looked in to Kings, but I have to walk in (even if you want an appointment you need to make it in person) which is pretty hard with three kids under 7.... is there really no easier way available? Thank you

Dulwich medical Centre GPs always had a fitting service - not sure if still do, it mean changing surgeries though...

Personally I'd say always go to a sexual health clinic- this is their job, they do it all of the time and I find them more skilled.

Don't be put off by the look of Camberwell clinic.....it's a bit no frills! Personally I like joining the drop in queue at 8.45am with the youths but not everyone would. For an IUD it's by appointment only I imagine but they will advise you if you call

Re Camberwell clinic - to warn you that they don?t make appointments over the phone - you have to go into the clinic to make the appointment, in my experience for a future date, so allow a bit longer...agree that the doctors there are v efficient so don?t be put off!

Was really nervous when I went to the clinic at Camberwell but boy, were they lovely. Yes, had to wait but staff lovely and treatment painless.

I wasted 2 mornings of annual leave at Camberwell. Each time I waited for hours but had to leave to get to work without getting a coil. I went to Margaret Pyke at UCLH instead. I booked online, got the first appointment of one afternoon and was in and out within 30 minutes of my appointment time. They were great and my mirena is even better!
