I'd really, really like to see a non-stop train from ED to Shoreham by Sea because my mum lives there and I visit her usually a couple of times a month.

It would also be very nice if the only other passengers could be nice clean well behaved ones who wouldn't mind me knocking back a few cans of Kronenbourg during the journey (and subsequently snoring rather loudly)

Hilarious, is ED a nutter-free zone then? Could we put that on the station sign along with a Welcome to East Dulwich message and hanging baskets to show we are all lovely?!

Dear me, very amusing posts all in all and agree would love to reduce the commute (esp as S.Bermondsey completely pointless station in the middle of nowhere with less than 5 people getting on or off it always seems!!) so all in favour of a petition to the local councillor for ED who seems to post on here regularly :)

Eh? Excuse me!!! I am staying with my OH at Packett Mansions, and we have just tonight got a train from South Bermondsey to see Fran McGillivray and Mike Burke play in a pub in East Croydon, AND got a train back from East Croydon to South Bermondsey.

South Bermondsey station rocks! And what's more, there is a real sweetie in the ticket office.

And btw, what is this company who are apparently sponsoring the ED (and Peckham) station signs? JBM something or other. Who they?

You didn't fall asleep, I've once caught this train as well. Like a bullet it was!

    • Strange isn’t it…..other European countries s actually come up with solutions to house homeless people, which are pod structure, use of office blocks, etc. homeless are provided with thermals, warm sleeping bag and tent or pop up tent plus tech friendly clothing which means they are warm in extreme conditions. Us in UK? Nothing but chuckinto house of multiple occupation, which is usually not warm and not all have mould, but some do.. live in one room even if you are a family with good only knows what other sort of people…  not referring to ethinicity here but more along the lines of mental health problems, drugs, alcoholics. Single and families all in one property. Or if you are one of the lucky ones, into a hotel you go…   Why don’t we as a nation claw back more money in the form of tax  or avoidance avoidance, off shore accounts or other ways that rich or investors do buck the system….
    • Hello! I’m considering buying the demise for the loft-space above my flat (facing the classic renovate or move scenario for an additional bedroom or 2). Has anyone had recent experience of buying the demise from Southwark? Interested to know how they’re handling the premium/valuation.  thanks!
