Heh, it's impossible to argue with your wife when she tells you what you need to buy. And even when you point out that an item was never used, you're a heartless git who shouldn't even consider cost implications when it comes to the kids.


I thought we'd done it all, and was determined we'd manage without a bloody double buggy... Of course I was told otherwise, and we're now the shame faced owners of a P&T!

Oh I love this, it's so true!

I've definitely had to persuade Mr.Hellosailor into a few 'essentials' that were oh so not essential!

though there has been very little we've bought that we haven't found useful, even if it did seem overkill at the time.


Still cannot believe that these exist though - a step too far methinks!

Oh, that's hilarious! My mother made me some as a joke when no.1 was tiny, by cutting and gluing cotton wool pads. Can't believe people actually buy them... can you imagine their being pitched on Fragon's Den? "So one day my son peed in my eye, and I thought -"

    • It's more likely a buzzard – one or two have been seen in recent years, particularly over Dulwich and Sydenham Woods. You don't have to go far to see them regularly – Addington, West Wickham and Biggin Hill, for instance.
    • Roll on the time  , if ever, when we adopt the Australian system whereby the agreed price becomes binding. The whole process takes place much more swiftly and with less hassle than it does here. Scotland have a good system also.
