My Baby Brother by Harriet Hains;DK

Also; The Ahlbergs - Peepo & The Baby Catalogue were very useful for revisiting what babies need, what they can (& can't do) and how the older sibling is able to do so much more than the baby etc.etc.

I also really like the Usbourne book, and it's still a favourite with my daughter 6 months after the arrival of her baby sister. As well as the breast feeding picture I like the way the Mum, Mrs Bunn, looks really knackered and still has a big tummy after the baby comes! I wish I'd prepared my daughter a bit more for breast feeding as she was a bit freaked out by it at first.

Another lovely book is 'There's Going to be a Baby' (John Burnigham and Helen Oxenbury). It follows a mother and her little boy through her pregnancy as they speculate what the baby will be when it grows up. It has beautiful illustrations. The Mummy is a bit glamorous though!

I loved reading 'There's going to be a Baby' and E really enjoyed it even though I'm not sure if she got the concept. Agree with BB though the mum is very glam in her heels and dresses! 'There's a House inside my Mummy' is great on pregnancy but then stops just after the birth.

We have the Usborne book mentioned and 'Topsy and Tim and the New Baby' which also features breastfeeding. Happy to lend soon (ish!?). E also likes looking through the ELC and Jo Jo Maman catalogue and talking about all the baby things.

    • I can't recommend Leon too highly.  He provides a first-rate service.  He's friendly but also professional.  He sorted out my extractor fan which  was running incessantly because another electrician had bodged it. At the same time he saved me buying a new shaver unit which had stopped working when the extractor wouldn't stop running. He was also uncomplaining about having to to go up and down 3 flights of stairs between the bathroom and the electrical power unit. He will definitely be my first port of call for any future electrical issues.  His contact number is: 07707 925039.

    • of course most people would avoid the "stupid" term - but I'm sticking with it fact is no other European would be so dumb, and even with the same information, the  same media, the same everything, 2 of the countries within the UK saw ho stupid an idea it was - but only the English (who played a large part in the Welsh result) pushed ahead - there is something defiantly arrogant and stupid and it isn't just down to bad info and bad leadership But that was all 2016 - it's people in 2025 who claim it to be a good idea executed badly who are especially stupid Now - does calling people stupid help anyone? It's not especially politically gainful and just gets peoples' backs up - but it remains a truth and only when the country as a whole genuinely holds it's hands up and admits the stupidity (rather than downplaying it as a poor decision - no shade meant Mal - you are just nicer and politer than me) will it begin. to turn the tide Also worth mentioning that yes I am as intractable and blunt with friends and family who voted Leave as well - this isn't me hiding behind some online anonymous account. This is what I'm like
    • Hello My name is Lizzie and I work locally as a dog walker and nanny. I won’t be needed over Summer so will have full availability for a dogsitting job. I have a DBS certificate and will provide several dogsitting references as well. Please note that I can only watch your pet at your home since they are sadly not allowed in my flat! Looking forward to hear from you
