Thought I'd revive this thread, as I'm now the proud owner of a Box 4 Blox. It has transformed my life, if you see me walking down the street smiling it's because my Lego problem is no more. The children think I'm mad, as does my husband, but it is the most satisfying piece of kit I've bought in a long time.

Not only does it make tidying up "fun", it has really encouraged the kids to play with their Lego in a more creative way, as the pieces are more accessible. I have spent the last two afternoons sitting with them and helping build things from their books and really enjoyed it too, and up until now Lego has been a complete no go area for me.

Highly recommended!

I remembered this thread from ages ago and actually looked it up last week now that we are in the (early days!) realms of Duplo and playmobil - found it hilarious! Don't quite have the need for this hallowed box yet but did finally get an Expedit for our open plan downstairs and it had changed our lives already! It's so much better having the toys in easy, ordered bliss - I agree it makes them easier to play with for both parents and children alike!

Really recommend compartmentalising over massive toybox of junk! So much better all round and turning untidy me into someone who quite enjoys tidying up my son's things now!!

I also feel like I am winning the war with lego.

I went to Poundstretcher and bought some of those clear plastic drawer unit things for about ?2.99 each. I then spent a few very boring hours the other Saturday night sorting out flat pieces, bricks, people, weapons etc etc. I used to go clubbing on Saturday nights!

    • You clearly do not know, how much it costs.. An example, little change from £100 if granny & gramps plus 2 want to do an activity in London ..& that is not adding in kids pick a toy each at the end or, ice cream - that alone for 4 - no change from a tenner. Yes, of course one can take a picnic, drinks etc & do it cheaply, & yes - plenty of attractions for free, kids go free etc but, at the end of the day, if you are grand parents & only see your grand kids a couple of times a year, if you are lucky.. that is what it costs..!! Times have moved on - I am old ..looking as an example.. Paddington Bear experience for a family,,
    • I think cuttings from substantial plants in a park, taken from a non-obvious place, is fair enough and totally different to brazenly helping yourself to someone's front garden plants. This is outrageous.
    • I have also used Dave Godden to repair cracked brickwork in my terraced house, quite bad cracks appeared on an internal wall 7 years ago and the repair he recommended and carried out has worked perfectly. I found this thread now because I'm looking for a surveyor to work out where damp is coming from in the back of ours house and it sounds like a maintenance surveyor is what we need - @Pam50 would you recommend the surveyor you used please?
    • I used to know a lady, in her 70s, very respectable. had a beautiful garden and loved to garden, was always taking cuttings from public parks. She was careful not to do it when other people were around and a friend acted as look out.
