  1. Richard did some work for us last year and we have recently used Richard again. As per the post above, I cannot recommend Richard highly enough. The whole process is so smooth, he does a lovely job, when he says he will, for the (very reasonable) price he says, nothing is ever too much trouble, his communication is great and he is a really nice man! If only it was always this easy!
  2. Another glowing recommendation for Richard, he totally saved the day for us! He has been brilliant, incredibly helpful, nothing is too much trouble. He is super reliable and well priced for a good job. We will definitely be using him again.
  3. I forgot the clarins concealer, but definitely recommend. That's what I use, it lasts forever (In real terms about a year, not sure if that is good or not but you only need a tiny bit, even with dark child induced circles....) and doesn't go cakey!
  4. Playmobile for the 4 year old. They do fantastic sets that the 7 yr old will play with as well. If you get the boats etc the larger bits make great bath toys also (for variety). Although you may well be swimming in the teeny tiny bits already.... ;-)
  5. Charlotte Tilbury's stuff is brilliant and really straight forward. I also really like Benefit's The big easy foundation. It gives a lovely finish, nicer even than the BB Cream.
  6. Yup me too, but if you check what angle you want before doing anything else it will avoid finding you don't like the other angle either... 😉
  7. Before you make a decision either way lay something (grey paper/fabric??) across in the line you think you would like and see if it looks better. A small investment to see which you prefer and will clarify it for you. If you are able to look at both options it should clarify it for you... Good luck.
  8. Nothing to add except sympathy as had a similar experience at Goose Green playground a year or so ago. It really felt shocking as they were so young. ETA I did report it to 101 at the time also
  9. We are there (very) regularly and even though my cat can be (due to illness and too many visits for her liking) very tricky, they are unfailingly nice, kind and helpful. I haven't been charged for the form filling and we've had a few!
  10. Hmm sorry, I only know about slightly smaller packages, try courier point or parcel 2 go, or else shiply might work? (Shiply marries you up couriers going in your direction and they submit bids, although sometimes they are very high, but if you wait sometimes it comes down massively)
  11. Shipping what to where? (House full or one package I mean ;-))
  12. We have had a Roman blind in a previous house. Don't think they last as long but wasn't a major issue. Just have to scrub it regularly. ours was made out of heavy duty shower curtain stuff as it was over the bath/shower. We have gone for the frosting and then film over top as it wasn't quite opaque enough with just the frosting....
  13. I want to buy a massage for a friend, she is towards the end of her pregnancy. Just wondered who the go to masseuse was these days in East Dulwich (or surrounds). Thanks in advance, Amy
  14. Best tip I read when doing shaped cakes (which I don't very often) is to do a thin layer of icing then put in the fridge for 10 mins or so to harden the icing and then you can pile the rest on! Worked a treat!!
  15. Same message for me, am also with BT.
  16. Just to add to the above, we recently had a -shirt printing party which went down a storm. I would highly recommend this, it was hassle free, smoothly run and really good fun. If I did it again I would probably go with Lou's suggestion of pizza (instead of slightly overcomplicated afternoon tea requested by the birthday girl)....
  17. We had two kids at Blossoms, they were brilliant for both(very different children).
  18. We did watch Octonauts on tv but the toys were brilliant. They are good in water and out, came on holiday to the beach, in mud, you name it an Octonaut accompanied us... Unexpectedly robust and survived intact! Also the playmobile bits were used a lot in conjunction.
  19. I found both primark and topshop stuff went down a storm at that age (girl) and also I bought this: http://www.hersey.co.uk/silver-pendant-star one year which went down well. Depends on hobbies but definitely found London based stuff goes down well!
  20. I was thinking of buying the battleships game (probably in a misguided old school effort) ,but I think they would like it. We are also toying with the minecraft lego (know you said about lego already but...) Am definitely watching the thread closely as it is such a tricky age to buy for.... Smiggle stores have opened in Bromley, not sure if boys will be into it in quite the same way but it is heaven for kids. Lots of reasonably priced stuff. Is an Aussie brand that seems hellbent on worldwide domination but has pretty cool bits.
  21. Belle, if you get a light saber get one of the retractable ones. We have two of the non retractable ones that just hang around.... I definitely think presents that they can play together is the way forward, we are currently consumed by match attax....
  22. We were 8 for my eldest but the youngest went straight on after. Tbh is much better than the endless crap apps they were requesting but I have baulked at buying an Xbox 360 just for minecraft (or indeed at all).... I would go for the windows version but then there would be endless arguments over who has the laptop. I like the idea of lego minecraft. May have to have a look! Nerf guns are featuring highly in the want list for my 5yr old currently.
