I?m sorry to say we're looking for a home for our lovely cat Arthur. Over the last few years I've become incredibly allergic to him and can no longer have him around the house. Plus, it?s unfair to him as he really likes a cuddle and doesn?t get any from me anymore.

If any of you are looking for a very friendly cat please let me know - also please feel free to pass on our details to anyone who might be interested.

Some details about him: He?s a friendly black and white (neutered), very affectionate and has been great with our kids. We are not sure how old he is, probably around 13, but he is still spritely! We adopted him from the RSPCA about 9 years ago. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to come over and meet Arthur first (SE15). We can give you all our cat related equipment. He's fully up to date on his injections and has a cute wonky 'smile' as he had a couple of rotten teeth removed. He's used to having a garden to go out into so isn't really suited to just indoor life and isn?t used to living with other cats so probably needs to live on his own.

Oh no! I'm sure that's a tough decision.

Have you looked into options to manage/ reduce your allergy?

HEPA air filters significantly reduce the allergens - it's not actually the hair that causes the allergic reaction, but the proteins from saliva or dry skin (when they clean). You can get hoovers with these filters too.

You can also get immunotherapy from your doctor.

It might help.....

    • I’m currently conducting exploratory research into menstrual health education in UK secondary schools and would really value the insight of PSHE leads, Heads of Year, or pastoral staff.    The research aims to understand:   How the menstrual cycle is currently taught within the RSHE framework Where schools feel confident — and where there may be gaps Whether students are taught and  asking questions around the full menstrual cycle, symptoms, wellbeing and conditions such as PMS/PMDD or endometriosis How schools support students in feeling empowered to understand their bodies and seek help appropriately Whether education around nutrition, lifestyle, and menstrual wellbeing is currently addressed   The long-term goal is to explore whether there is a need for additional, age-appropriate, medically informed support on the menstrual cycle.  I’m not selling a programme and there is no obligation beyond a 30 minute informal chat online (Unpaid). All conversations will be confidential and used only to inform the research. If you work in a UK secondary school and would be willing to share your perspective, I would be extremely grateful to hear from you. Please comment below or email me [email protected] Thank you for the vital work you do. Best wishes, Emma
