Just adding my voice to this - Stephen and Gard just decorated two bedrooms, a bathroom, and the hall for us. They did a great job and we're really lovely to have around the house. The work was done when they said it would be and for the price they said. We'll be using them again in the future.

Yes I've been trying to put this off for years. Am permanently on high doses of antihistamine and we have a big HEPA air filter that helped for awhile but it's not enough anymore - the allergy keeps getting stronger.

I?m sorry to say we're looking for a home for our lovely cat Arthur. Over the last few years I've become incredibly allergic to him and can no longer have him around the house. Plus, it?s unfair to him as he really likes a cuddle and doesn?t get any from me anymore. If any of you are looking for a very friendly cat please let me know - also please feel free to pass on our details to anyone who might be interested. Some details about him: He?s a friendly black and white (neutered), very affectionate and has been great with our kids. We are not sure how old he is, probably around 13, but he is still spritely! We adopted him from the RSPCA about 9 years ago. Anyone who is interested is very welcome to come over and meet Arthur first (SE15). We can give you all our cat related equipment. He's fully up to date on his injections and has a cute wonky 'smile' as he had a couple of rotten teeth removed. He's used to having a garden to go out into so isn't really suited to just indoor life and isn?t used to living with other cats so probably needs to live on his own.

Hi, Just wanted to put out a massive recommendation for Mark Longhurst (07531 946 312) - who we originally found on these forums and has many recommendations. He's just finished a complete refit of our bathroom: strip back to bare walls, floor boards out, reline walls, new floor, walk-in shower, tiling, decorating etc. He's done a fantastic job and is a lovely guy too - a real pleasure to have round the house. We'll be using him again in the future for small building, plumbing, and decorating type jobs. Happy to DM pictures/respond to questions.

Hi just to add to this. Bradley's just been to our place to clean the sofas - they look great. We'll use him again next time we need carpet or upholstery cleaned.

Just want to put in a recommendation for Steve Loftus and Nichola Meeks (Steve is highly recommended on this forum and indeed that's where we found him). They just sanded and varnished the hall and lounge in our house - it looks great, I really can't fault the job they've done at all, way better than my attempts in our previous place. Steve and Nichola were a real pleasure to work with, the house was tidy each evening and there's not a single scuff on the walls or skirting board. Also wanted to add our recommendation for Elliot. He's just built and painted alcove shelves and cupboards in my lounge; they look great. Elliot was a pleasure to deal with: does what he says he will, turns up on time, and all round easy to talk to.

Ditto another recommendation for Dave - he just finished a job on our house. Reasonably priced (lots cheaper than our regular plasterer), quick and tidy. I'd happily use him again.

Just wanted to recommend Micky Lawless, a local plaster who's done a few jobs for us now (skimming ceilings, walls etc). He's a lovely guy, very professional and has always done a great job (not to mention the fact that he's cleaned up so well that place is actually tidier than when he started). While we're at it Pete Bennison is a great local plumber and gas installer - I had to call him out a short notice today to install a new cooker but in the past he's done many jobs for us including fitting radiators and a new boiler, indeed I think I originally saw him recommended on here when we first moved to the area in 2008.
