Seeking tutoring for Grammar School exam

Hello

I'm looking for someone to tutor my son, who will sit the Grammar School exam for schools in Gloucestershire next March. I think this exam differs from the Grammar School tests in South London/Kent - but we may well be in East Dulwich for the next few months so need to get going on tutoring now!

Do let me know if you/anyone you know might be suitable.

Many thanks

Charlotte

This might not be helpful but, I watched the BBC Grammar school documentary recently and the general consensus was that

extra tuition was a complete waste of money. You've either got it or you haven't. Just get some mock papers and work through those.

Hi Charlotte,

As a professional tutor, I work independently and as an employee of prestigious local tutoring agencies.

With a passion for education and teaching, I am enthusiastic and committed to my students and their needs so they can indeed succeed in a confident and friendly learning environment.

In order to successfully prepare children for 11+ entrance exams, I provide:

- One-to-one focus to address your child's unique ways to learn so he/she can attain the expected level of attainment.

- Thorough knowledge of the requirements for each specific selective test.

- Cements the child's knowledge acquired at school, as well as covers subjects and exam techniques not taught in school by the end of Year 5, thus filling-in the possible gaps in his/her knowledge.

Please find some references:

"Caroline is a kind, warm and inspiring tutor. My 10 year old daughter always looked forward to her sessions with Caroline and she became very well prepared for her 11+ exams."

"We were very happy indeed with Caroline - Imogen and Bailey both got offers from all schools applied for, and Bailey has two academic scholarships and a third scholarship interview, so they have done wonderfully - thank you!"

"When tutoring my son Theo, Caroline was really committed and was brilliant for keeping him motivated. They had a really nice relationship. She has an amazing ability to make the lessons fun and was always coming up with inventive ways of teaching. I?ve just asked my son if he wanted to add anything and he says ?She knew me really well.?"

"I have known Caroline around four years and she has taught two of my four children.

In terms of teaching content, I have found her to be a very well-prepared and diligent teacher, with creative ideas about how to engage the children, taking into account differing needs. She is very personable and popular with the children - they have always very much looked forward to seeing her. On the practical side, she is organised, punctual and communicative."

My contact details are: Dr Caroline Perret - [email protected] - Tel. 0208 291 93 43 / 0749 7767 661.

I charge ?55/hour.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

With kind regards,

Caroline

I am currently helping a number of students prepare for Common Entrance Examinations and despite what some might say it does make a difference. I am located in the Camberwell area but able to travel to yours. My rates for key stage 2 are 35 pound an hour.

Please feel free to contact me on 07807635310 if you require any further information.

Regards,

Phil

    • A couple more PR / tickbox sessions are being offered by the organisers (the expression "reaching out" really makes my skin crawl), again presumably without any council representatives attending. No sign of the results of the consultation yet, or when the meeting is to decide whether to grant the licence... To whom it may concern,   We are reaching out to invite you to our upcoming Residents & Stakeholder Drop In Sessions for Gala 2025. We are hosting two drop-in style sessions to facilitate more in depth conversations, allowing us to run through our plans for 2025 and to discuss how we are going to address your feedback.    We look forward to meeting you in person and discussing our event plans for both Gala and our new community day, On The Rye Festival, in more detail.   Lunchtime Session: Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Date: Monday 17th of March Location: Watson's General Telegraph, 108 Forest Hill Rd, London SE22 0RS.   Evening Session: Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Date: Monday 17th of March Location: Watson's General Telegraph, 108 Forest Hill Rd, London SE22 0RS.   As these are drop-in sessions, you can arrive at any time during the below sessions - but it would be greatly appreciated if you could advise on an approximate arrival time. If you would like to attend, please respond with: Your name Your address Your estimated time of arrival   We really appreciate your feedback and taking the time to attend our engagement meetings.   Yours sincerely,   Community Team | GALA Festival [email protected]
    • I must say Dulwich is the worse borough I’ve seen for dog mess. Literally everywhere I step it’s dog poo! There is a lot of children/kids in this area god forbid they fell in it. Fix up dog owners!!
    • I can’t recommend Niko highly enough. Not only did he solve a problem that was puzzling others, but he started with the least disruptive and least expensive option which worked. He is also a delight to have in the house. 07818607583
    • I have been training with the brilliant personal trainer Fox (yes, that is his real name) for over 3 months now. I can't speak highly enough about Fox, Gok and their team. I was desperately unfit and now I am in danger of turning into a gym junkie! If you are considering joining a gym/class or getting a personal trainer then I would 100% recommend Gokay Fitness.
