If all the fruit that was left to throw away at the end of a shopping day was collected along with all the cakes the bakers throw away, were collected together and they could all be turned into loads of trifles for hospitals, schools and

other places.

Unwanted vegatables could be turned into stews the list is endless

Average? Is that a meat eater in the UK, or globally? And are you taking on the persona of the average Vegan (UK/Global?), or your actual personal intake?

I've looked on the back of all those packets of dried food(?)stuffs in SMBS and there are some scarily distant (air/sea miles) countries of origin.

Ha peter, the air miles are insignificant when you consider how energy heavy the majority of meat is, 80% of all soya beans grown on the earth go to feed animals, 90% of this energy is wasted when they live about etc. Then add the last wasted to grow the food, and the massive amount of water.

No wonder the chair if the EU committee in climate change is encouraging people to do a meat free day!

I think peter was merely trying to suggest that those without sin should cast the first stone.

If you're eating kiwifruit in November you don't fall into that category, especially if you're communicating it in the bulletin board equivalent of a high pitched nasal ventilation.

How many sheets of bog roll do you use when you go to the loo? I have a colleague that's sufficiently scared of his own poo that he uses so much paper you couldn't shoot a bullet through it. He also fills the bowl with paper first to avoid splashback.

He attempts to justify this clearly ridiculous behaviour, much as you do, by being self-righteous.

I think it is a really good idea.

we should be looking at ourselfs on how we waste food.

I do not understand why some of the forum members are so

negative towards Tarot.

It seems to be a very sad trend on this board I have noticed.

well done Tarot and shame on the rest!.

    • We're are just about to get ready for sale, a 2 bed flat, very close to Peckham Rye park.  It has been rented out for sometime, so is in need of some TLC for it to look its best, before it goes on the market.  Would be interested to know others thoughts on whether its best to just have the place painted completely white throughout, probably with new grey flooring, or if it might be more appealing to add some colour/interest (nothing too drastic), perhaps something alittle 'warmer', with some nice (potentially dark) feature walls maybe? Wondered whether the days of going completely white might now have passed ..... It might be useful to know that its not a period or conversion property, but rather a flat in a private purpose built block.
    • It's a Microsoft . pub file, and it does open OK, but that's a discontinued program which used to be part of the full Office suite. I've got an old machine with old software and it's still on that.  This is a .pdf version (I hope)April 2025 Dulwich Hill Newsletter.pdf
    • Even with Acrobat pro - it does not open even though it is an acrobat doc.   Error: "Adobe Acrobat could not open 'April 2025 Dulwich Hill Newsletter.pub' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application. Then choose Save as Adobe PDF from the PDF dropdown in the Print dialog."
    • I got my hair cut there and was very happy with it. I thought the pricing was fair - less than Blue Tit which is where I used to go. Jonny used to cut my hair years ago. I went to book him but ended up with Gabriele who did a great job. Will use them again. Also their junior price goes up to 17.
