I have been emailed the following and requested that it be put on the East Dulwich Forum.

"Following the shooting in East Dulwich on Thursday afternoon, extra officers have been drafted into the area and surrounding boroughs to reassure the public, and make it clear to anyone even considering being involved in violence that it will not be tolerated.

Our priority is to bring to justice to those responsible for this horrific shooting and to prevent any further incidents from occurring over the coming days.

A significant number of witnesses have come forward and detectives from Operation Trident have been working around the clock to gather evidence and piece together exactly what occurred and identify those responsible for this outrageous act. Trident received strong community support while carrying out inquiries in the area last night, which continue today.

Policing plans are in place across south London to prevent and deter violence and other crime from occurring and to provide reassurance to the public as they enjoy Bonfire Night celebrations over the weekend. Historically this is a time of the year that the Met steps up police activity, targeting crime traditionally associated with seasonal events.

Thank you.

    • Nope that is boring,  I want something creative.  Maybe turn them into Xmas cards.  I understand from those daytime television programmes that don't involve buying houses, DIY, antiques, bargain hunting and the second World War that this is called 'upcycling'. AI suggests: Upcycling old cheque books can involve repurposing the paper from old checks into creative items like notebooks, journals, art pieces, gift tags, bookmarks, decorative paper, or even small boxes, by cutting, decorating, and assembling the paper to create new functional or decorative objects, while ensuring any personal banking information is properly obscured or removed. And there is vid too
