Damp proofing - Recommendation - Dave Reilly (Plastercare)

Recommended Posts

Yet another endorsement for Dave Reilly. He did a thoroughly professional job getting to the root of our plaster problem, pointed out the issue that a previous ?professional? had missed, fixed it, plastered absolutely superbly, tidied up and invoiced for bang-on the price quoted. His work is extraordinary. Now that I?ve painted the wall, I literally cannot see the join between the old plaster and the new section he fixed. Amazing work. 100%.

I'd like to add a recommendation for Dave to this thread. Dave came to look/quote at very short notice when we were worried that we had a damp issue we'd need to fix before a new kitchen was installed. He was honest and straightforward - telling us that there actually wasn't a damp issue, how to sort out the mould we could see easily ourselves, and avoiding us unnecessary expense. Much appreciated.

    • Would this not be a complaint better aimed at the council? Isn't it an anti social behaviour issue?  I think of myself as pretty live-and-let-live and feel like a miserable cow for saying this, but I do think I might complain. Personally I love the sound of fireworks but our dog is under the table, shaking like a leaf night after night and collapses in the street when he hears the noise.  I'm worried his heart'll give out.
    • The lower / no bang noise fireworks sound great.    Is there anywhere local selling those?
    • This petition to reduce the noise of fireworks is currently going through Parliament https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/738192
    • Have you complained to the solicitor directly and did they respond within the 8 weeks they have under their code of conduct - I presume they have and this is why you have escalated further to the SRA? If he doesn't respond in a timely fashion per the SRA code of conduct then I am sure they will need to take action.
