The East Dulwich Deli is in ... Harrods ! Has anyone been there ? Is it like East Dulwich?

I do find the staff in there act like they're doing me a massive favour by serving me.

I have always found the staff at EDD to be courteous and helpful. I take an interest in food and usually discuss the goods with the staff - there and at the other food retailers - where again I usually find pleasant and courteous responses - SMBS, Pretty Vintage, Cheese Block, W Rose, Moxons, Blackbird Bakery etc.

I know from experience that some customers (not, I'm sure EDF readers and posters) can be truly "up themselves" and unreasonably demanding - or just plain unreasonable - leading to less than perfect service from retailers. The lady in EDD who allowed her children to pick out olives by hand from the bowls in the chiller, eat the olives and either throw the pips back in the bowl or on the floor is an example.

That's what I thought too.

Haven't been to the Harrods branch of EDD and rarely go to the ED one but on the few occasions I have, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Even suggested I try the dulwich supermarket across the road, SMBS or Franklins shop for what I was looking for*

I have found the service in there quite variable. Some of the people who work in there are unfailingly very courteous and friendly (the young guy), but others...can be little offhand.

I knew the ED dulwich Deli in EAST Dulwich when it was run by a chinese couple. And Hisar was a nice old fashioned art shop
