Annette Curtain
It's been one of those weeks.I've had to be in each day for one or other service or delivery. Quite tedious but in a way perversely enjoyable.Monday = Business parcels 1/10 Tuesday = Business parcels 1/10 Wednesday a.m = Custom made rubber stamp 8/10Wednesday p.m = Oh joy of joy, my new vacuum cleaner arrived. 1:))/10Now, you'd think a vacuum cleaner is just a vacuum cleaner, but no. Since my Henry passed away with asthma motoritus i've not rushed into purchasing a replacement. "I'm doing some research" I said to the one who can't/won't be told.Well, i've tried a Dyson - Looks & acts like a dalek.I've tried a Kirby - great if you live in a stately homeI've tried a panasonic-mehBut finally I settled on a Meile S5211. Oh what a marvel, it's light, powerful & engineered like a Mercedes.I'm blown-sucked away by its utter fabulousness.Anyway, enough excitement ( you should see my stairs/hall/landing now )Tomorrow: I look forward to the arrival of my i-phone 4S.The anticipation is killing me ( and now no doubt you).NETTE:)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/ Share on other sites
*Bob*
I feel you've missed a trick here: in addition to the standard floorhead supplied with the 5211, the 5281 includes a parquet floorhead and a turbobrush - for relatively little extra cost. But don't beat yourself up about it. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/#findComment-498488 Share on other sites
dbboy
I'd have got a Sebo, also German, same quality but cheaper. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/#findComment-498493 Share on other sites
Loz
Well the 5269 will not only leave you "sucked away by its utter fabulousness", but will vacuum the floor as well. Huguenot
I've heard they had a few problems with the Miele 5211, but probably nothing to worry about. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/#findComment-498508 Share on other sites

Salsaboy
Apparantly the problems are made worse when you can't hear the 5211 because of loud music. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/#findComment-498525 Share on other sites
Huguenot
I did hear the the i-phone 4S battery issues were due to be sorted as soon as they'd cleared the current backlog of lemons :'(But I guess that might not be you Annette? I'm sure you got lucky or something.*sighs* Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20459-waiting/#findComment-498534 Share on other sites
*Bob*
Annette Curtain Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Though you can buy that head as an extra for about> ?24True, you can get your parquet brush for ?24.95. Included with the 5281. But then you've got your turbobrush - ?39.99. Included with the 5281. One can only hope that the bog-standard, regular brush which you got with your 5211 doesn't end-up being a disappointment. nashoi
I can't believe you're still 'buying stuff' Nette, that's sooo 20th century. What you need is a ZCorp 650 in the cupboard under the stairs. If you fancy something a little more Heath Robinson you can build an open source one called RepRap for free, which can then replicate itself.
