Reception starters September 2019 - Goose Green Primary School tours, come see our big improvements!

Recommended Posts

We would like to give parents and carers whose children will be starting Reception in September 2019 the opportunity to find out more about the huge improvements that are taking place at Goose Green and the warm, creative and inspiring learning that we provide for children at the school.

In September 2017 we became part of the Communitas Education Trust, joining up with John Donne Primary School (which is Ofsted Outstanding), and Simon Wattam joined us as Headteacher, having previously been co-head of John Donne.

As well as achieving huge improvements in our 2018 Key Stage 2 SATS results and maintaining our strong performance in Early Years and Key Stage 1, we have also continued Goose Green?s long standing commitment to providing children with a broad and exciting learning experience. This includes specialist art, music and PE teaching for all children across every year. Our curriculum is designed to use topics that inspire the children, supported by amazing texts and trips that bring the topics to life.

We also have a really active school community and our parents and carers support the school through exciting activities like the annual carnival which they run in Goose Green itself every summer and the amazing Green Screen which went up around the school boundary last spring. You can see more about our school on Twitter:

and our website: https://www.goosegreenprimaryschool.org.

We would love to invite families who are interested in finding out more to join one of our morning tours which are taking place on the following dates:

* Tuesday 9th October 2018

* Wednesday 7th November 2018

* Tuesday 4th December 2018

* Tuesday 15th January 2019

* Tuesday 5th February 2019

The tours are a great opportunity to see the school and to meet our senior leaders and school team. They start at 9am and are followed by an opportunity for a cup of tea and a chat with some of our parents and carers, hosted by the Friends of Goose Green School.

We look forward to seeing you!

    • Greens have some mad polices and I am still trying to work out if it is true that the leader of the party thought he could hypnotize women to have larger breasts 🤷‍♂️ country is in a real state at the min and all party’s have a part to play in that. what the future holds who knows but it is worrying.
    • A stellar win for the Greens in Gorton and Denton, no doubt. But by-elections are funny beasts. Labour's strength traditionally has been in its ground game. Legions of canvassers over many years in many seats usually means that they are best placed to 'get out the vote' on election day. I can't quite believe that the Greens have enough data, or people, to wrest control of the council from Labour.
    • Was a regular haunt of mine for many years and had a lot of fun times in there and some marvellous food down the years. Though, admittedly I spent most of my time in there doing some serious boozing. In recent times I've been a less frequent visitor to this fine establishment. I seriously hope it doesn't change too much. It's always had a good vibe in there and that's down to Tim and Rod and all of the staff who have worked there over the past 26 years.
    • Tom came round today and did a very good job advising on picture and mirror placements, and hanging several pieces. Will definitely ask him back to do a few more once we have them framed.
