Thank you Jeremy.

Sorry Sue, if I wasn't clear. Yes, I was talking about Southwark's "Score on Doors" star ratings, though I take your point in that I wouldn't expect to pay at TCC what I am prepared to pay at Ganapati. Whilst I had a lovely evening at TCC, that was more down to the company I was with, the staff at TCC and the general ambience of the place. The meal, whilst more than edible, sufficient and very, very fresh, I found to be distinctly average - for Thai food. However, I feel this was fairly reflected in the price and - all in all - I would return. As Re-re, the OP, pointed out, they coped admirably with our "rowdy" party of 17. Indeed, service was excellent. It was fun!

Well that's a matter of opinion!!>:D<

And the adjective "rowdy" came from Re-re (TCC thread). Can't think who she meant - other than you, of course...heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

My only reget was not reading Dr Medic's words of wisdom as I didn't realise TCC was BYOB. Special thanks to Kerry for looking after me. And as for you, Laddy Muck, I succinctly recall all the rowdiness came from your end of the table.

Couldn't really, AM, I was out all day earlier and arrived late for the meal. Must admit, I was a bit puzzled why everyone had a bottle of wine next to them for a period of time.

My Physic's teacher had Doctor in his title and I don't think he had medical qualifications either.

That's what you get for dabbling in anagrams doc. Personally I can't see your moniker now without picturing a long white coat...

I live pretty near Ganapatti and went for the first time last week - bloody loved it. I am veggie and so absolutely love South Indian food (plus I really like coconuts and lentils anyway.) I had the vegetarian thali which I think was about ?12 and was absolutely stuffed, and the paratha was the best I have ever had. Gorgeous restaurant, and very friendly service. I'm super pleased to have it on my doorstep.

I'm certain my last post was removed.

Have I broken a rule that you can't mention another website on here? This isn't Nazi Germany so if an admin could message me to tell me why..

Anyway there is only 2 hours left to vote: let's make Ganapati win SE restaurant of the year !!

I just posted the bit.ly bit.ly/vO9Egr link to the voting that's all. It must have been removed 4x, but why?!

    • A lot to agree with here - don’t get me started on Irish people complaining about immigration! - but that final paragraph is once again a cop out  there’s a lot of extreme right wing money stirring up the division that people are feeling - but there is zero excuse for handing power to these people. We live in a democracy and if we have enough people willing to give it up then judging those people foolish enough to do so is not only something that will happen, it is something that the rest of us should be morally compelled to do  if someone wouldn’t “normally” vote for a racist party yet somehow will do so because they hear someone like me saying that would be bad, then you better believe I’m judging them

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
