I was in the shower when my doorbell rang yesterday and I realised I wouldn?t get to the door in time to answer it. When I can down there was a card through the door saying a parcel had been left with a neighbour across the road for me. Unfortunately when I went over there they had a parcel for their direct neighbour but not for myself. If you happened to take in a parcel from Royal Mail on Wednesday 10th of October on the Whateley rd end of Ulverscroft rd could you please come round with a parcel as I don?t know what house it?s actually at! If all else fails and you have a parcel that is not being collected please return to Royal Mail who will hopefully then redeliver!

I was actually really happy that I didn?t have to return to the nightmare that is the highshore road sorting office to collect a parcel but now I don?t know if I will ever find my parcel! I?ve had loads of mail missing over the last months and interestingly mail delivered for completely different roads which I then redeliver myself!

Here?s hoping the service improves!

Given the present chaos with the mail, is it possible that the postie tried to deliver a parcel, then left a card at your house, that was actually meant for another house? Maybe the parcel wasn't for your house at all?

Otherwise, maybe you could call/drop a note through various neighbours' doors, maybe giving your phone number, to see if they have got your parcel? Not everybody in East Dulwich reads this forum, or is even aware of it, amazing though that may sound!

    • I'd try the Dulwich Village of "North Dulwich Triangle" forums for more local knowledge but I don't think thise areas compare to Abeville Road at all. It will be quite a different lifestyle.
    • Yes, Dulwich Village commands a premium and justifiably so given access to the City via London Bridge plus the top rate schools within walking distance.  The bus services are really good also - 37, 42 and P4. The P4 is useful for connecting to the Victoria line at Brixton. It's worthwhile waiting for the right property. I know of one which will be coming on the market in a few weeks - 4 bedrooms and south facing garden circa £2.5m.
    • This is an utterly foolish and alarmist statement, completely at odds with reality.
    • I realise this is highly unlikely, but if anyone has a colour laser printer in very good working order, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands!
