Raleigh folding bike

Recommended Posts

Folding bike. Works well, but is a bit tatty and needs some TLC to improve the rear brakes. I've recently replaced the rear tyre tube, rear pads, the cable, and both brake handles (so they match!) but can't seem to make the rear brakes as strong as they used to be.

The front brakes are sharp and work well.

I fitted a comfort seat and will include this and the original seat in the sale.

Hi, I?m not sure how old. I bought it used 2 years ago.

I?m not sure what?s required to repair the brakes. It?s a really simple system, and I?ve replaced all the components so I?m giving up! The brake handles were ?7 each, the cable anouther ?5 or so, and the pads about the same. All from Halfords.

Aside from the rear brake it?s only got paint damage.

    • @NewWave I know how you feel. Like you, I've lived and spent prolonged periods of time in some pretty crazy places and always thought I could handle a bunch of kids. But, no - they got to me and I was shaking like a leaf afterwards. That's what age does to us.  But I did engage with them, so bear that in mind.  My advice would be to never let anything like that stop you doing the things you love. I'm certainly not going to stop using the park, there's no way they get to take away our cherished spaces!  If you see them, just change tack and keep out of their way. My dog won't even go that way again, so that's that problem solved. (If I see them again, I'm going to keep taking photos from a safe distance).
    • Truly horrific. Being passive or fighting back is what many of us think about by violent theft.
    • What ridiculous waste of money
    • Lots of good primary schools within reach of there. Fairlawn, Goodrich, Ivydale and Horiman. Secondary schools you will definitely get into the Harris Academies or Sydenham Girls or Forest Hill Boys, you might just be on the boundary for the East Dulwich or North Dulwich Charter but it changes every year.
