For anyone who lives on Oakhurst Grove, Ferris and Tyrrell Road just to let you know Ive just become the Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator.

It would be great to foster a stronger community spirit on these roads, so please drop me an email on: [email protected] and tell me your concerns for the area, and also so I can get a picture of the people who live around me!

Anyone not on these roads - do you have a local NHW group that you are involved in?, would be great to hear tips.

Tom

Well this is interesting, because what seems like years ago but probably isn't I responded to requests to volunteer for a Neighbourhood Watch scheme in my road (Ulverscroft Road) and despite chasing them nothing ever seems to have been done re such a scheme here.

You would have thought if it's true that burglaries have increased in this area, they'd be wanting to do everything possible to deter thieves, wouldn't you?

Maybe I'll try chasing them again .....

    • Callout for help from any local experts here. Looking to find out more about the history of the property on the corner of Whateley Road and Ulverscroft road (with the green glazed bricks). Now a residential property, i'm told it was a bottle shop in days gone (the house was built around 1900) by and i'd like to learn more about the history of the business that was once here - name, photos, anything at all really! Seems to be very little from open source research so i'm hoping anyone with history in the area can provide any insight!  Starting here before i contact Southwark Archives or similar orgs to get any information and pictures (any advice here also would be welcome). Thank you
