Local Yoga Teacher/Nanny with 5+ years experience childcare

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all enjoying this beautiful sunny autumnal weekend :)

As a local Peckham based yoga teacher, working with children has been the heartbeat of everything I have done. Working as a nanny throughout my fashion career across 2012-2015, then teaching at Inner City Arts in LA across music, dance and textiles, from ages 5-16. Now as a yoga teacher, I would like to continue my childcare experience as part of a local family using all of my previous experiences to nurture and grow together.

I have child-minding experience working with different families across London from 2012-2015. As a nanny for a 5-year-old girl, I was involved in afterschool care, babysitting and holiday care. In this position I spent a lot of time devising art and crafts activities as well as outdoor activities such as learning to cycle, seasonal based activities as well as school pick up, bedtime routines and organizing and supervising play dates.

Across the 5 years, I also worked with a local family looking after their 8-year-old girl, taking her home from school, preparing dinner, organizing activities. Maths tutoring. Arts and crafts. Singing/piano practice and activities. Further I worked through Dulwich childcare and was placed with a family looking after a 5-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy.

I was a studio assistant at Inner City Arts in LA from April 2017. I volunteered in the dance, music and textiles classes, working with children ages 5-16. This was a wonderful position on a very inspiring campus, learning about individual experiences, and working with children from different backgrounds, combining all of my creative experiences in a teaching/mentor environment.

I would love the opportunity to work with you as a part time nanny.

I am based locally, and have availability during the week or weekend to meet and talk further about what you are looking for and my experiences. My availability to work is ideally 3/4 days per week and I can do afternoons between 1pm-7pm as well as some availability for mornings for the right family.

Please get in touch at [email protected] for more information, looking forward to hearing from you soon,

Have a lovely half term!

    • My mum (91 years young!) well remembers going to Austin's as a child, which she described as an 'Aladdin's Cave'!  She absolutely loved it - and is still a shopping fiend to this day (I 'blame' Austin's 😉). Going back up Peckham Rye, passing Austin's on your right hand-side, just past Phillips Walk (so not far from Austin's at all), I believe there was a British Relay Wireless shop - this would have been in the late 1930s/early 1940s.  Does anyone know anything about this? My grandad (my mum's dad) used to manage it; it was severely damaged in The Blitz - but I am having trouble locating it.  Mum's memory is dim (she was 6 at the time); she originally thought it was in Rye Lane, but we think now it was in Peckham Rye just up from Phillips Walk (originally Phillips Road).
    • Thanks everyone, this will need to be reported again as the fox was still mobile and walking down the road when last seen... hopefully someone will spot and report.
