vxr8owner
Esst Dulwich...well what can i say?...not quite got the finesse of Dulwich Village, ,infact it is a ok place but it makes me snigger when i hear people trying to big the place up. Bordering a crime infested area called Nunhead, and Peckham..the Rye etc, I cant see the draw to the place. Its dirty, run down and shabby..... Loz
I'd rather live in East Dulwich than define myself by the fact you drive a slightly souped-up Vaushall Vectra salesman's car. Let's face it - the only thing fast about them is how fast their value depreciates. You've probably lost ?200 in the time it took to type this post.Shouldn't you be living in Chigwell, anyway? Jeremy
There does seem to be a small handful of people who think ED has become sort sort of Fulham equivalent (Clapham suffers from this problem acutely). These people are deluded - but nonetheless, it's a fairly pleasant corner of town. If you think its dirty, run down and shabby... you should get out and see some more of London! Its dirty, run down and shabby.....It was a bit run down, dirty and shabby (albeit with a fair bit of local colour/character) when I lived in ED 25 years ago - paid a visit a few years ago (live in Crystal Palace now) and it was changed beyond belief along Lordship Lane. Went into a deli to buy some balsamic vinegar and had to beat a retreat - how much!? ::o Dullrich is boring beyond belief though - would almost certainly opt for ED if I had to choose between the two, which happily I don't, living up at the lofty summit :D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/20815-why-on-earth/#findComment-505826 Share on other sites

Any more arsey little 'antique shabby chic boutiques' like Old Villa with its naff bay trees (So Sloane St. circa 1983) and pricey tat and what character LL still possesses will whither and expire in a whimper of old-english-lavender.
