After school nanny needed, East Dulwich, 3(ish) days per week

Recommended Posts

We have 2 lovely girls, aged 6 and 4, and are looking for someone to take care of them a few days after school each week. We are a pretty relaxed family, more interested in free play after school than homework, and we're happy to pay above market rates for the right person - because we know from experience that a good nanny is a massive asset! We are looking for someone reliable, kind, creative and energetic. We are open to nannies of all types, but have particularly enjoyed working with uni students (especially postgrad ones) in the past.

The girls are at Heber Primary, which is about 5 mins walk (10 mins at 4 year old pace) from our house. The main focus of the role is definitely just hanging out and having fun, but there will also be dinner to cook so it would be ideal to find someone who likes cooking as well as kids. We are happy for the girls to have about 30mins of screen time to make meal prep a more pleasurable experience!

Current thinking is that regular hours would be 3.15 - 6.15pm or thereabouts, at least 2 and ideally 3 days per week. Start date is flexible but it could be as soon as next week if you're free. At the moment, I mostly work from home so would be around and about to help you find your feet.

Prior childcare experience and references required, but no need to drive.

PM me if this sounds like you - I'd love to hear from you.

    • I had this same query the other week - Mediquip no longer cover Southwark and I believe the company when bankrupt? Anyway, after some digging, I found the news on the adult social care page of Southwark Council website.  The new supplier of medical equipment that is issued to Southwark residents via an OT from the council or the NHS is Provide Equipment Hub.  I emailed them about returning two items and they did promptly respond and came and picked up the items the following week.  Email them at [email protected] Importantly, they will come and do urgent repairs of equipment like hospital beds.  I'm surprised that Southwark haven't made this change more widely known as it will impact many vulnerable residents.

    • Hello East Dulwich families 👋 I wanted to introduce myself to the community. I’m a professional family & wedding photographer with 14+ years of experience, and I split my time between the US and London throughout the year. I’ll be based in London for the coming weeks and would love to photograph more local families here in East Dulwich. My approach is very relaxed and natural — no stiff posing, no pressure — just real connection, movement, and the beautiful everyday moments that tell your family’s story. I work especially well with kids and parents who feel “awkward” in front of the camera (which honestly is most of us!). Sessions can take place at home, in the park, on your favourite street, or anywhere that feels meaningful to you. The goal is to create images that feel like your life — not a photoshoot. If anyone has been thinking about documenting this season with their children, I’d love to connect, answer questions, or simply share examples of my work. No pressure at all — just happy to be here and meet some neighbours. You can see my work here: https://bluesparkphotography.com/family/ (use the contact page on the site to send me a message if you're interested!).
