Having never had any interest in doll's houses until now, I need help...

I bought a lovely Asda house for my little girl: this one

Now the furniture is sold out, so I'm looking for something to furnish it with. But it doesn't say what scale the house is. Does this vary? I've done quite a lot of googling and found 1/12 and 1/24 and now I'm confused.

Any experts who can advise? Thanks in advance for any help with my piffling problem, which seems a little more confusing than it is due to late pregnancy!

I cannot quite remember what it is but the majority of dolls houses are made to the same scale.. We have a le toy van one and I have bought all sorts of different makes of furniture and they have all been the right size.. Soup dragon on lordship lane has a good selection Of furniture and makes as well as le toy van houses so may help you get some idea of scale.. Also you can get furniture on amazon and the descriptions on there sometimes have the scale in them too..

Hope this helps a bit....

sue ryder (charity shop) had some amazing dolls house furniture quite detailed but still toys - not the collectors stuff.

also playmobil furniture seemed to be a similar scale and sylvanian families stuff. they are all very similar in size

best of luck

    • I'd try the Dulwich Village or "North Dulwich Triangle" forums for more local knowledge but I don't think those areas compare to Abeville Road at all. It will be quite a different lifestyle.
    • Yes, Dulwich Village commands a premium and justifiably so given access to the City via London Bridge plus the top rate schools within walking distance.  The bus services are really good also - 37, 42 and P4. The P4 is useful for connecting to the Victoria line at Brixton. It's worthwhile waiting for the right property. I know of one which will be coming on the market in a few weeks - 4 bedrooms and south facing garden circa £2.5m.
    • This is an utterly foolish and alarmist statement, completely at odds with reality.
    • I realise this is highly unlikely, but if anyone has a colour laser printer in very good working order, I'd be delighted to take it off your hands!
