Duke of Edinburgh Volunteering

Please could I have any recommendations for volunteering opportunities for my 13 year old daughter for her Bronze D of E Award, working with old people, children, in libraries/charity shops? Will visit a few places this weekend but just wondered if anyone knew first hand, which organisations have accepted these young volunteers into their midst?

my daughter was a scout explorer at the time she did her DofE, and volunteered at a younger group, beavers I think it was.If there is a group in your area, you could always approach the group leader?

For my son's DofE he volunteered at Park Run at Dulwich Park on Saturday mornings.

Your son should also be able to volunteer at school e.g. helping with younger years PE classes. Ask and find out what they can offer.

My child volunteered there three years ago and is still going. she loves it.
