singalto
I came home to find a dreaded ?missed delivery? card from Royal Mail. Is there still a long queue at Highshore rd these days? Carrie
I was there at about 1.30 and only 2 others in the queue- although it was getting longer as I left Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/210601-has-highshore-rd-sorting-office-improved/#findComment-1295674 Share on other sites

KrackersMaracas
Not as of last weekend - a queue to the top of the ramp at 1pm, and when finally served at 1.45 it was still as long. Someone behind the counter said to a colleague ?well we shut at 2, so we?ll just have to shut the door?. singalto
As I?m in bed ill , I have booked a redelivery. The earliest available day for that is Saturday. Should I hold my breath? singalto
Rendellharris, that gives me hope. The parcel delivery driver from Sylvester rd knew where to leave parcels. I still haven?t quite understood why our posties have been redeployed rather than continuing their original walks but what do I know? Penguin68
why our posties have been redeployed rather than continuing their original walks but what do I knowThe original walks were all optimised to start and finish at Sylvester Road (obviously) - the new walks are in pairs (so two posties can travel together in one van with their mail from Peckham) - and no longer need to be optimised to start and return to the sorting office on foot. Hence they have changed. I am hoping that the delivery staff will stabilise eventually, but it seems that there are still too many vacancies for permanent routes to be stuck to, days are missed out on walks so that everyone can get a few deliveries in the week. I've yet to receive a credit card bill which should have been sent on the 9th. Luckily I have an ap so I have discovered what the bill is and can pay it in time, otherwise I would have hit interest city. Still a mess. Sue
Yesterday I had all my neighbour's post delivered to me.Today I got a letter for a different road (same number as mine). When I returned it to the postie, he said "The machine does it".Do they not look at what they are putting through the letter box??? Sue
What worries me is where some of my post may be ending up.I assumed it was somewhere in the black hole which appears to be the mail system round here at the moment, but now I'm thinking .... what if it's being delivered to empty houses? Or houses with people who can't be bothered to repost wrongly delivered items?I'm still waiting for a gift card which was sent out in October (it's been cancelled and I've received the replacement, but where is the original?)It's all very well if you know something has been posted to you and you haven't received it, but what about the things you aren't expecting?
