Dear Mr Jockey,

Mr Banfield is a really nice guy, and he sells really good quality....everything really, and delivers when he says he will. He will always put himself out for you. I have used most of the wood yards around Dulwich and Norwood during house renovations, garden landscaping, having decking, fencing etc built over the years. I suppose my experience may be a little different - being a woman. But Mr Banfield knows exactly what he is talking about, is never patronising, as he is not some teenager on school holidays. He will always return your call, and remember you. I would use him in preference to anyone.

Bought lots from Mr Banfield. He even came round to do a quote to put up new garden fences and when the quote came out to be more than I wanted to spend, he stood in my garden and told me how I could do it myself (as we had never done anything like that before) - really nice guy! Reliable with deliveries too.

A bit expensive, so if its a large job, Merton timber or whitten timber will save you a lot of dosh, but Mr banfield is good for smaller stuff. Also a bit hit or miss if you are looking to take away. He sometimes has to order in.

Use him b4 he sells the plot for luxury flats (he must be sitting on a small forture there..)!

    • Palace were at home last night, kicked off at 19.45. The timing sounds about right.
    • The way they were heading, towards the East bound South Circular, and on lights and sirens, wouldn't I think suggest that. I have lived on Underhill for close to 40 years, but it has not formed part of an emergency route until very recently, nor have we had rush hour queues until the LTN introduction. Despite the fact that it is a bus route much of it is residential and doesn't support speeding traffic safely. It's not a route I would chose to put 5 speeding police vans in convoy unless there was no alternative in accessing the A205. Which there now mainly isn't.
    • There were large amounts of police and a couple of TSG vans at London Bridge station last night at a similar time.  Usually that means some sort of Millwall related football clash, but I didn't hang around to find out.
    • In deed.  I was hypothesising and being ironic.  See my separate thread on football and politics.  Perhaps I'll add WTF in future (wtf would I want to go to Trumps America).
