Just wondered whether anyone has been on a Mark Warner ski holiday recently and taken their baby and can offer tips on what to take/ what's not needed and what to expect from the childcare? We're off to Deux Alps in a few weeks time, taking our 9 month old with us and am starting to panic thinking about all the kit we'll need to take! I'm also a bit worried because it'll be the first time that we'll have left him in a creche-type environment on his own for that long...

But some of the things I wondered are:

Baby food - it says they provide baby food jars but should we take our own (Ella's, for example) that we know are good?

Buggy - is taking a buggy included in the baggage allowance or do you need to pay extra (am hoping not since it is a kiddy friendly holiday operator!)? And is it even worth taking one, given that it's likely to be snowy and icy (well, I'm hoping so anyway) - do buggys work in the ice?

Naps - baby likes to nap in his buggy and isn't good at napping in his cot during the day (I know, I need to work on this....). Any idea whether the creche/nanny staff will let him sleep in his buggy for naps or is that not the done thing? Do I need to work harder at the cot napping over the next few weeks to get him trained for the holiday?

Washing machines - do they have any?

Planning to phone and ask about all this anyway but just wondered if anyone had any advice from their own experiences - anything I haven't thought of?

Very excited about the holiday but a bit nervous about leaving the LO.... :-S

Several years ago we took our two year old skiing with MW. The nannies were excellent and he was happy in the creche. They had a number of large wheeled buggies so will be able to help you there. They provide microwaves for warming milk or baby food and we could use these any time of day. Take nappies and wipes - choice is limited in resort. The change in altitude affected our son's appetite but the food was good. We hired a toboggan to take him out in the snow including pulling him around the town.

    • I wonder where he could be deported to, Hungary the obvious candidate in Europe, perhaps he would get on well with Modi?   Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch and Reform UK leader Nigel Farage both said Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood should look at whether Abd El Fattah's citizenship could be revoked to enable his swift removal from the UK. Farage said in a letter to Mahmood: "It should go without saying that anyone who possesses racist and anti-British views such as those of [Mr Abd El Fattah] should not be allowed into the UK." So just racists views are ok Nige?

    • If it's the same one I'm thinking of, it was a little further down the road towards LL, probably where the Fresh Flower Company is today. I'd forgotten all about it, with good reason. I think it disappeared before Blue Mountain opened and became a pizza place? I once bought a carton of milk from the deli and when I opened it, it was solid. I did get my money back though.
    • But when was it posted?! I haven't posted any this year. I can't bring myself to pay the exorbitant cost of the stamps, and at least I can sort of honestly blame it on illness. If I can't hand deliver them, I send e-cards. I know it's not the same, but it's very much easier. And as for the people who still send pages of closely handwritten letters .... very admirable in terms of the hours it must have taken them to write them,  but they remind me of those spoofs eg x has just passed all their many important exams with the highest marks possible, y has just walked round the world in a week, z has just become the first person ever to be knighted twice, we are about to fly off for our fifteenth exotic holiday this year ....... Or else (or sometimes and) they are full of who has had what illnesses and accidents and other catastrophes. Is this just my relatives and distant friends? Am I somehow attracting these reams of handwritten paper?
