And one more thing- have you tried polenta? This is the one food that has never failed me- I hide all kind of other foods in it- pureed spinach/ lentils/most types of well mashed veg/mince/cheese/butter, the list goes on. It's soft enough to not hurt tender baby gums but firms up enough to roll into little blobs for them to pick up, it's easy for them to spoon up or they can just smush it around.

Well emza78, I thought so briefly! For a few days she started taking the spoon again - with us using the distraction techniques that others have posted about! But the last 2 days she has spat out all food again - though because this has included fromage frais, bananas, smoothies etc, I suspect there must be something else at play - namely teething - as even in the last few weeks when all spoon food and most finger foods have been refused - she would never normally say no to a yoghurt!

Am hoping that she can be coaxed to take the spoon a bit more again, but totally prepared for the fact that she may not as have just had about 6 weeks where she would not so think the days of that are pretty numbered....

It's not that I want her to take the spoon for any other reason that than it has been such a relief to see her eating casseroles, fish, vegetables again for the last few days, in a way that she simply will not with finger foods at the moment. It was with a bit of a sinking heart today that I made toast and...penne with cheese again, sigh!

I know this is an old post. My 11 month old daughter is so active that she hardly took a spoon. The solution for feeding her was sitting in front of tv on the floor and putting her on my lap so her body is rather inclined, somewhere between lying and sitting. H would then put her favorite kid show on and while she is watching, put soup in her mouth. The soup is neither very solid nor runny. Every four to five spoons I also offer a sip of water. Sometimes I record the shows that she loves and she actually overstuffs herself! What a change from a fussy eater to a great eater in just a few days! It was my mum who suggeted this method by the way.

    • Hello.  A parcel for someone at 64B Blenheim Grove has been dumped at my address.  If anyone from 64B is in this forum, please get in touch!
    • CPR Dave is anti-dogs. Each to their own  I think my dog has perhaps grown a bit less nervy about the fireworks in the last few weeks, interestingly. Our last dog had no problems with them until he reached old age, when he became petrified.  CPR Dave - it's not just sounds of the metropolis they hate, mine collapses in fear when he hears thunder too
    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
