  1. Lily recently cut my daughter?s hair and she did a fantastic job. Lily really listened and took the time and care to make sure it turned out exactly as requested (not always easy with children) and we appreciated the small, calm studio space. Would thoroughly recommend!
  2. Cheese quesadillas are an easy snack. A block of cheddar, a packet of wraps and a frying pan, and leave them to it. Or add lots of other fillings to make a meal- chicken, peppers, onions etc. Also, endless cereal.
  3. It says on Southwark website that they are currently running 2-3 days behind with brown bin collection.
  4. Could it also be the case that because of the ever present rumours that London will be locked down, it caused a rush on the parks and open spaces similar to the panic buying at the supermarket? And that this will calm down if people still have access to open spaces? It would be hugely detrimental for people living in flats without any outside space to lock the parks completely. The majority of the people I saw in the park were practising social distancing(absolutely no signs up anywhere from the council with guidance or information, which would probably be helpful) and it?s a good idea to close the cafes and playgrounds.

How can TFL justify reducing the service so significantly, especially during morning and evening rush hours? I often get the 12 and it seems to be a pretty well used service at most times of the day and night. You can email [email protected] to give them your thoughts.

Holding someone to account for expressing blatantly antisemitic propaganda/conspiracy theories in public is not ?bringing politics into whether art/music is acceptable?, it IS part of the the fight against the rise in antisemitism. It is such a cop out to cite the ?well, that?s just how they thought back then, it?s art innit?? argument, which does not apply in any way to Mear One, who is doing this now. Why should he be rewarded with the opportunity to profit in any way with further exposure of his art work? From the Guardian yesterday : ?Britons make 170,000 antisemitic Google searches a year?, many specifically referencing the Rothschild ?New World Order? conspiracy theory. I don?t understand how you can think the worrying rise in antisemitism and the far right is not connected to art such as Mear One?s ?Freedom of Humanity? mural, when his antisemitism was legitimised by being emblazoned across a wall in a public place? https://www.theguardian.com/news/2019/jan/11/uk-thousands-antisemitic-google-searches-per-year-research
  7. I have had a parcel delivery mix-up and something I ordered appears to have been delivered to this address today. If you get in touch with me via PM, I can provide more details and hopefully I can be reunited with my parcel! (Or if anyone knows someone who lives here, please pass this on- there was no-one home earlier.) Thank you.
  8. We don't have an extension but west facing glass doors and our kitchen was like an inferno. We got some of these blinds (the first type on the page, so they don?t have the blackout lining) and they have made such a difference. They can open from the top or the bottom so I can adjust them to let the light in and keep the sun out over the course of the day. They were a bit trickier to fit than the video suggests but I?m really pleased with them. https://www.blinds-2go.co.uk/conservatory-blinds
  9. Please support the wonderful volunteers in keeping Ruskin Park paddling pool open! https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/ruskin-park-paddling-pool
  10. Was mildly surprised to see this planning application attached to a lamp post on Goodrich Rd. As far as I can gather, no-one in the immediate area has received any notification of this through their doors and there is nothing posted outside the property itself so many who may be affected by it might have missed it. http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9576025
  11. I have no idea whether it is big or international but this is the company: http://www.chefnemo.co.uk/

  13. I can recommend Lee Garvey for this- we had the same problem with our pipes making a humming/whining noise when the tap was turned on and it was something to do with the water tank in our loft and the water pressure. He managed to identify the problem and fix it so maybe give him a call- 07881277385.
  14. Lee has just replaced our boiler and we are very happy with the results. He and Simon were punctual, efficient and have done a great job for a very good price. Really appreciate that he takes the time to properly talk through all the options to find the best solution for your needs and we will be having him back to change radiators and put in a new bathroom further down the line.
  15. This is what it says about numbers on their website, but this might not have been updated recently if it's not what you heard at the open day. http://www.chartereastdulwich.org.uk/page/?title=Applying+for+a+school+place&pid=22
  16. Not fictional! We had a spate of missed collections, both green and blue bins. Every time I reported it the bin was emptied within 48hrs. I also sent an email to complain because it was happening so frequently and received an email in response and a call from a Veolia manager with an apology and an explanation. It was a while ago though, so maybe things have changed.
  17. That's really helpful, thank you wonderwoman.
  18. Actually rendelharris, I have to disagree with you about Harris' attitude to their pupils' out of school behaviour. We (myself, friends and neighbours) have contacted the school on several occasions recently regarding incidents. Firstly, repeated verbal and physical bullying of younger children by someone who has actually been identified. Secondly, the school has been repeatedly made aware of the Barry/Upland Rd/Oakhurst Grove situation, which- just one example- involved fighting, fireworks being let off in the street and verbal abuse from the students at 4pm a couple of weeks ago. The response every time has been that as they are not on school grounds there is nothing Harris can do and they recommend calling the police. And that's it. I was really surprised as I thought they would react more as you described.
  19. I could be wrong but I thought the jam jar thing came about from mimicking Prohibition era speakeasy bars when they brewed/served alcohol in jam jars to disguise it.

Do you mean ?30 just for you? We (party of 3) had 3 pizzas, an apple juice, a sparkling water and a beer at Franco Manca and it came to about ?30, not including service.
  21. They do have a machine for paying in cash in the corner. You can also do all bill paying, money transfer etc by phone banking if internet banking's not your thing. You can even talk to a real person.
  22. Possibly too late now, but the Vale Pharmacy by Goose Green roundabout does them.
  23. I was wondering that too. Most of the regular staff missing, aaaaages to get acknowledged or served and breakfast definitely not up to the usual standard. Was wondering if they've changed hands because the awning and sign are missing from the front.
  24. Tinned baby corn, cooked, vacuum packed beetroot, courgettes sliced onto ribbons with a vegetable peeler with a squeeze of lemon juice. Green beans, mange tout, sugar snap peas, asparagus- can all be steamed in minutes. Sauerkraut? They sell the raw probiotic ones at SMBS. And yes to avocados. Avocados with everything.
