Chick
Some feed back:Lovely evening. It was so nice of Louisa to take the time to spend an evening with us. Interesting to hear how Louisa did the research for the book. And there were some poignant stories from Louisa and others about how their families were affected by the First World War. Chick
Some feed back from last week.I really enjoyed Wednesday. It was a treat to be able to discuss a book with its author and the first time I have ever done so. Louisa was very open and friendly. I was interested to hear how she was drawn to write ? My Dear I wanted to tell you ? after learning about Dr Gillies work with facial reconstruction. And I liked our lively group discussion with Louisa, and Sheila?s wartime contributions. I feel I now know more about the book and the war and there were one or two things I had missed which were brought to my attention. As a general comment about the book, I believe I have learned a little about the trauma of injury and disfigurement, this was something which I had never really considered before.Maggie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21522-wednesday-night-book-club-the-clockhouse-at-730-to-800/page/19/#findComment-1190481 Share on other sites
