After endless internet research almost giving up... The good places are probably hidden and only found by word of mouth. We have tried few afterschool clubs in the past but kids are now 8&10 and I'd really like to find something where they can try new things (ideally choice of sports/arts) and get engaged rather than be looked after (and left to their own devices)... Any place in Lewisham or Southwark with good transport links considered.

Thank you all!

Hi Digbina. Do you have contact information for Jolly Foresters please? I tried contacting them in the past but didn't get a response.

Spoony- my son (9) goes to Southwark Gymnastics' holiday clubs and likes them https://bookwhen.com/southwarkgym

Also the sports club at Dulwich College very good and the one at JAGS looks good too. Not sure if these run in HT or only in the longer holidays.

Sports activity camp at south bank university - elephant and castle, fitforsport the castle centre (everyone active) also elephant and castle.

Dog kennel hill AP usually have a scheme running too, my son attend last year and loved it and the staff.

Thanks, everyone! With the Southbank Uni Sports club http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/academy-of-sport/activities-for-kids/school-holiday-sports-camps we exchanged few emails and that's my fav.so far.

Foresters sound great (my kids do Woodcraft) however the website says Holidays 9.30 ? 12.30 or 9.30 ? 2pm and I need a full day.

I also found this http://lemonartlab.com/shadwell-club/ which is short trip by overground from New Cross and looks great.

St Dunstan's College in Catford is running Supercamps https://www.supercamps.co.uk/ which are looking interesting too. I was looking at PGL residential camps out of interest but these run from May over the Summer mostly. Anyone has got experience with these?

Hi everyone...we will be running our much loved playscheme again this year...

you can book using this form here:

Children are encouraged to be creative, get messy, arty & to use their imagination and play play all day long!

I have attached a brief outline of what we plan to do, but we are very child led so this isn't set in stone.

Children can partake in sports...outside play on our wooden structures, arts & crafts, have limited time of computers.

Its ?25 from 9-6.

Please email Kate on [email protected] for any other questions

Thanks so much

I would highly recommend Nimble Arts - it's on the pricey side but well worth it - many of the carers are teachers or have had teaching experience, in contrast to many of the other holiday clubs. They also use good quality materials and their organisation is superb - from passwords at pick up to the activities themselves.

They are best in class as far as I am concerned and my boys love going - they are aged 4 and 8.

Range of activities from sports to arts & craft and even exotic things like learning about various parts of history (e.g. Tudors - with actors dressing up, plays, just amazingly well done) and even falconry!!!

It has been planned for ages and was supposed to start today but there are no signposts up yet. There is another separate school street which covers Etherow street and Friern Road between Goodrich Road and Lordship Lane.
