Belle
not that we do, but have a few properties there or nearby that we like, so have been wondering what schools you'd likely go to from there? Obviously I realise there are no dead certs in the primary school application system, and the catchment varies plus bulges etc have an effect - but just wondering what the majority seems to be, if anyone on here knows? We may end up starting at Goose Green nursery because of where we currently live, and I was thinking it'd be nice to try for a school place there after for continuity (I know, I know - can't plan but can't help thinking about it either). But is perhaps too far. PM me if you prefer... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21682-schools-if-you-live-on-friern-road/ Share on other sites
BeccaL
daughter is at goodrich and quite a few come from Friern road. She's in yr 2 though so no idea what the catchment might be now... kristymac1
depends where you are on Friern, but I would think Goodrich would be closest or St Anthony's (catholic) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21682-schools-if-you-live-on-friern-road/#findComment-517997 Share on other sites
pebbles
I think it does depend where on Friern Rd. When we moved to FR I phoned Goodrich and they said the higher numbers stand more of a chance than the lower numbers. We're in the middle of Underhill and Goodrich and my son got into the nursery if that helps. Norfolkvillas
We've got quite a few years before our son will go to school, but we're in the lower numbers of Friern, and I think wouldn't be within catchment for the first round of places on distance - we're almost equidistant from our two closest - Heber and Goodrich both just over 400m away. I guess I'm just hoping that, as we are surrounded by primaries, and all ED primaries seem to be good / improving, we'll get a place at one of them by hook or crook. Was pleased to find out that Harris Boys, literally around the corner from us, has just been rated Outstanding, so at least that's secondary sorted! savage
Hi I,m in the lower numbers and my yr1 son goes to Heber, but he did get in in the bulge year. Children in our stretch tend to either get Heber or Goodrich.Kate Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/21682-schools-if-you-live-on-friern-road/#findComment-518209 Share on other sites
