Post in the family section too?

You might find a grant-giving trust on Turn2Us [https://grants-search.turn2us.org.uk/] and possibly through Turn2Us Funds. You can filter the search for family, health, children, location etc. As well as providing grants for furniture, baby things, there is also other support available. Turn2Us also has a benefits checker tool for seeing whether the family are accessing any and all support it is entitled to.

Also Acts 435 is a charity set up by the Archbishop of York that provides small grants via crowdfunding. You would need to find the local advocate and apply through them [https://acts435.org.uk/join/advocates?region=london]. Locally, the Copleston Centre Church, Pecan in Peckham High St and All Saints Church, Peckham are listed, but there might be one closer to the family's address.

These might be helpful resources in combination with the power of the Forum.

    • Seems to be back on now although pressure reduced especially for hot water via boiler. Hopefully I can have a shower in the morning.
    • It’s far too hot. Dogs should not be out and you’re right to post this.
    • Agree that you have to be so careful dogs in this heat… but please dont judge so quickly.  Its one thing if you see a dog at midday being thrown the ball endlessly, but if you see a dog en route / somewhere - You dont know if that dog was being walked to the vet for an emergency appointment.. or taken to a friend’s house that is cooler etc.  And if they live in a flat, they might desperately need to be taken out for a quick pee / poo !
    • I know,  absolutely crazy.  A dog has never died because it didn't have a walk, but dogs do die if walked in this heat. Perhaps the owners should put on a thick fur coat, take their shoes off and jog round the pavements, and see how that feels! 🤬
