That would depend if you were going up or coming down.. ;-)

Fox

steveo that is very funny.

and PCG yes I was thinking LASSCO in Vauxhall.

Maybe the're thinking of creating a double height space, or regular stairs with a Stannah Stair Lift or something, since I don't think Stannah could cope with a spiral staircase. I'd like to see them try though.

Do you know, when my Great Aunt died Stannah wanted ?2,000 to take it out the house again (apparently).

I should have said it was to fit a Stannah Chair lift. It is clockwise, but decreases in circumference as the steps get to the top of the Lighthouse, I dont want anything fancy as I am thinking of retiring shortly as it is getting a bit awkward with the cold striking the matches for the lamp, they promissed to bring gloves but said they cant get here.

I only came here because they said it was a light job.

    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
