Over the last couple of days windows, cars, bins, even next door?s cat have been covered with a thick layer of dust. There are about 5 houses on the road with scaffoldings outside and the dust has settled all along the road, making it difficult to be certain who is responsible. Not looking forward to spending my weekend washing down windows, bins and front door.

The house on the corner of Tyrrell & Hindmans is being repointed and the old mortar has been taken out with an angle grinder. Effective but would have a proper brickie crying at the rough workmanship. Interested to see what the repointing looks like when it's finished. But that's where the dust is coming from.

    • Did you think about taking a photo on your phone and giving it to Co-op management ? Better still post here on the forum.
    • The descriptors are  Woman 30s Black There is no point in describing clothes as they change.  If it was a white woman, descriptors should include hair colour, eye colour. While sex or race on their own are not helpful, the three descriptors do not warrant the OP to be labelled racist (and why not sexist or ageist while you're at it???). Sometimes, facts are just that.  We know that there is an increase due to financial circumstances, organised crime and mental health. The real issue is the observation of the temerity and lack of consequence.  Grow up.
    • The original post was about one shoplifter. Nobody is suggesting that  the shoplifter wasn't totally in the wrong, or that there may be issues with what shop staff and  security guards can or can't do in this and similar situations. However a description of a woman which includes only skin colour and perceived age is problematic in my view.
