  1. Yesterday around 1200 hrs 1 pink purse found on the upper deck of a No 12 bus heading towards Oxford Street (boarded the bus at the stop facing Peckham Rye Park). The Purse was handed to the driver.

  3. Does anyone know the owner? It sounded as the owner had gone to bed and locked it outside in the garden. The barking went on for hours.
  4. 20 mins to get from the bottom of Barry Road to Peckham Rye. What are they doing and when will they be done?
  5. Visited the recipease store in Clapham Junction last week. http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipease/ It would be great if we had one (or something like it) in ED
  6. http://www.freefilmfestivals.org Open to everyone even ED residents. maybe we could organise something similar in East Dulwich.
  7. I think you can pick up bikes at Elephant and Castle - does that count as SE London?
  8. wow, i hope no one from the RSPCA (or its equivalent for creepy crawleys) is following this thread. I'm beginning to suspect that the inhabitants of ED are a bloodthirsty lot. Does anyone have a full proof method for getting rid of mosquitoes. I was bitten twice yesterday.

  10. Do you think this post might be related to post about man running down barry road in underpants and boots
  11. "maybe even lick you as in my case." Maybe the mugger actually licked his face (as one would lick an icecream) Maybe the mugger slapped him (gave him a lick) or undid his belt and gave him a couple of licks.
  12. In Jamaica last year there was a spate of professional thieves stealing crops; literally waiting until a couple of days before it was ready to be harvested then stealing the lot overnight. Things were getting so bad that in Trinidad they were spraying their crops with a special agent which reportedly made you sick if you consumed it within a certain number of days. People were warned to buy their veg from reputable sources. Not sure if the crop spraying story is true or if it's just a guise to dissuade the public from buying stolen goods.
  13. I think it?s ok to have a moan about an old van parked on my doorstep. Even though I know the owner is within his rights to park wherever he likes, I can still wish that it was somewhere else. KK you are right. I don?t know that the owner is a slob. In fact, since I haven?t seen anyone near the van since it first appeared, I don?t know if he is in fact a she. I was just going by the state of the vehicle. To answer your question treehugger I think it is a camper van, but I don?t think it belongs to the place on Barry road that has caravans parked outside. Aren't all their vehicles white. Dulwich Fox I will pay you to park that van outside KK's house.
  14. Yes, your right KK. How dare I complain about slugs and slobs. I must think I'm living in Dulwich Village. Next I'll be complaining about the road not being swept.
  15. By the looks i've been getting, all my neighbours think it belongs to me. KK, I'll keep an eye out for the owner and tell him that you are offering his "pride and joy" parking space outside your house.
  16. I don't want to be rude, but how I wish the person who parked their rickety old van outside my house would move it. Whenever I open my front door the sight of this multi-coloured, mobile mashup never fails to annoy. I'm sure the van is somebody's pride and joy - but it really is too ugly for ED.
  17. PeckhamRose, surely photographing them only encourages them (a bit like big brother contestants). A collegue told me that washing the pavement outside my house with salty water will keep them at bay.
  18. Is there a slug infestation in ED? Walking along Barry Road yesterday I noticed at least five big fat ones. it's quite unpleasant when you accidently step on one.
  19. Travelling on the No 12 this morning via ED-Peckham-Camberwell, I noticed an increase in the amount of litter on the streets. Is this a result of school holidays? There wasn't a street cleaner in sight. Oh what a difference a flame makes.
  20. Strong smell of smoke in Tyrell Rd. Is there a fire somewhere?
  21. I think I?m loosing my mind. This morning I was sitting on the No 12 bus, stuck in traffic and getting more irritated by the minute, when suddenly I heard a voice urging me to rethink my travel plans for the duration of the Olympics. I thought it was the voice of God, except he sounded strangely like our esteemed mayor. Next I?ll be hearing bells.
  22. Really? You think the massive cleaning operation the day before the torch was due was a coincidence.
  23. On Tuesday they took a pair of curtains out the recycling bin and left it on top. Not sure why, I thought material could be recycled.
  24. Are you the type of ingrate who messes up a place and whines intolerably when you are caught and issued with a fine StraferJack? Or were you referring to the thousands of tax payers in Peckham who you feel shouldn't make a fuss when forced to wade through rubbish 24/7, except on the one occasion when the world's cameras are being pointed in our direction. I make no apologies for thinking that if if the area can be cleaned up for the cameras, then it can be cleaned up for the residents.
