Tyres.

Does anyone know of a petrol station or similar that will pump up car tyres?. Query is on behalf a person with restricted mobility and unable to bend down to pump tyres - also has arthritis in hands so fitting air pump sometimes a problem.

The only place I know is in Kent ( staff will fill your tank, do tyres and water) - just like the old days!

There is a pump available at the petrol station in Norwood Road (West Norwood) close to the B&Q where I have often seen car drivers stopping to fill their tyres but it is with coins, it works on a self-service basis, it is not serviced.

The problem is not the area but finding someone who will accompany her to the garage. When the tyre place was outside Turners in Barry Road, they used to do her tyres, The tyre place near Grove Vale Library does help but with all the lorries etc going up and down they only have a limit space to work in. Last time she paid ?3 for about 5 minutes work - she volunteered this and felt it reasonable. I only mentioned the Kent one as I was surprised to find an old fashioned petrol station (it was near Goudhurst/Sissinghurst)
