does anyone know of such a thing? I used to go to an aerobics class held in a hall (not a gym) that was a load of women between 20 and 60 dressed in whatever ramshackle exercise-wear they could find, bopping away to cheesy pop - and I would love to go to something similar now! I don't want to fork out too much, which is why I don't want to have to join a gym.

Also, if anyone could recommend a pilates course, in the evening, that would be good. My physio mentioned one at Dulwich Hamlets but it starts at 6 which is too early for me to get to once husband is home.

thanks!

Hiya, there is Zumba class at the Albrighton Centre (opposite Sainsbury on Dogkennel HIll) on a Monday and Wednesday 7.30pm to 8.30pm. Not your traditional aerobics but a very good workout. And yes, people wear whatever, it's really relaxed and quite a hoot - well, how can you not laugh when doing those moves....Good value at ?5.

If there is any other aerobics going, I'd be interested, too....

I used to go to an aerobics class run by a lady called Vicky. It was great. It's called flex and stretch but it's just an all-round aerobics plus toning exercises class. Its on a wednesday night. More details on her website: www.fitnessformummies.co.uk. Don't be put off by the "fitness for mummies" thing. The Wednesday night class is suitable for all. I really recommend it.

    • @Dulwichway Absolutely - I'm in no way trying to say that what happened was life-changing. I've encountered way worse situations and think of myself as pretty tough, which is why I took them on and got pelted. I suppose I'm just taken aback because the park always seemed so safe. But the stats I've just posted contradict that.   I suppose the one of the points of this thread is to point out that they weren't just numpty youths - I'd bet money on some of them being involved in more serious criminality. And to tell others to be vigilant.
    • Still, I guess it could be a lot worse than water being thrown at you by these numpty youths during these warmer times? thankfully it wasn't the more dangerous mugging type youths that crossed your path waving knifes and guns in your face!  just a thought? hopefully these muppets will get sorted by plod soon, but don't hold your breath.
    • Another dramatic spike the previous May 24 -  both crimes around the car park -  could this be related to the massively increased numbers of people around Gala time?
    • No, no need to shut down tfl, just cut out the unnecessary and expensive beauracracy, simples.  Sep, you don't even live here.
