Hi all Can anyone recommend a vet in the area? We're in East Dulwich, but don't mind travelling within reason to get to a decent vet. Equally, any vets to avoid? If you could PM me, that would be great.

Oh no I can't believe DL is still in business. We had him in for some major work in 2013. I could publish a book with amount of email back and forth. Un fathomable arrogance and self aggrandising attitude. He's a one man band who picks up tradesmen from pubs and outside b&q - he told me this. We finally managed to extract him from our home after months of stress and a few grand lost. Had subsequent issues which we shelled out more for. He fell out with his own team - a couple of them who worked with him before said all his jobs end badly. dreadful billing practices and shoddy work. He's not a builder, he's an ex IT guy who is taking a punt. I would've gone to small claims if I ever thought I'd get the money. You won't get a genuine reference from anyone he's done big work for except perhaps the one customer who he's been ripping off for years on worlingham road.

Hello all. I'd like to recommend Mr Fruitcake, who we hired for our son's 5th birthday party recently. He did a really good job for a competitive price. He was great at rounding the kids up at the start of the party and he kept the kids entertained and laughing for 2 hours, even going round the table at tea time with a few little tricks to keep them happy. Hither Green Oven Clean. If you Google it, the website will come up. My oven and hood were cleaned so well, they were like new. Not sure whether they'll clean just your cooker hood (and not your oven), but it's worth asking.

We did it ourselves using solid insulation. It was a huge faff, as our floorboards were mostly in place and we basically had to lie on our backs in the cavity under the boards and lodge the insulating material between the joists (having pre-cut it to size). It took ages but it was worth it. Very effective. With hindsight, though, we probably should've paid someone else to do it.

JAGS gets my vote. They run climbing sessions called "Pebbles" for age 4 and up. They're at 9am and 10am every Sunday and you need to book a few days (or up to a week) in advance. My son goes and he loves it. Great instructors.

We have a workplace nursery. It's run by Bright Horizons, but based in our office building. Apart from the obvious plus points of having a nursery at work, it also works out cheaper because my employer offers a salary sacrifice scheme, where nursery fees are deducted from your salary *before* tax. I have two children in nursery, so that really helps soften the financial blow.
