  1. We use mosi-guard and find it really effective. Not sure where you can buy it, other than Amazon and other online shops. It's good and it's safe even for young babies.
  2. Shop on the corner of Grove Vale and Melbourne Grove. Nice guy, too.
  3. I heard it too. So annoying. Anyone know what it was?
  4. I like Bobux and (if I'm feeling flush) Camper. Bobux's full range is available online but quite hard to find in shops, though I have seen a couple of Bobux styles in Biff. Well worth a look. Lovely flexible soles, nice soft uppers.
  5. Have a look on ED tots website for today's activities/toddler groups.
  6. I've had two there. One emergency c-section 3 years ago and one planned section 4 months ago. As others have said, you definitely feel like you're in good hands at Kings. The post natal ward is a bit of a struggle, but I'm sure that's the case in most hospitals. It is busy, but again, that's not a problem which is exclusive to Kings. If I have another one, I'd go there again.
  7. Anyone know if there's somewhere local I can get my baby's passport photo taken? Thanks
  8. There are kids activities at the Horniman Museum over Easter. Mainly outdoors in their gardens I think... I'll be taking our 3-yr old.
  9. Thanks very much to you both for your advice. I'll definitely put it on my list.
  10. Hello family roomers I was wondering if any of you have children at St John's & St Clement's, and if so, how close to school do you live? I'd like to apply for a non-church place for my son, but we live about 600 metres from the school. Is it worth applying or do we not stand a chance? Apparently there won't be a bulge class for the next few years. Thanks for any advice you can give me!
  11. Our 3 series was stolen from just Last week on melbourne grove. Seems they are able to clone the key somehow because there was no damage and the stereo etc. looked like it was 'uninstalled' by professionals so they know what they're doing. Calling BMW tomorrow. Excellent response from police, tried to take prints etc but no response. They also advised contacting BMW.
  12. Matt from Hither Green Oven Clean came round today, in the snow, arrived a few minutes early and did a fantastic job of cleaning my oven, extractor and hood. I highly recommend using him as the results he achieved are outstanding. My oven is like new. I found him recommended on here a little while ago and just wanted to add my tuppence worth.
  13. My other half is using an electronic cigarette which has been a bit of a revelation. He has smoked for years and tried to quit many times. This really seems to be working. Of course, it's still giving him nicotine, but that's a damn site better than sucking all that tar into his lungs on a daily basis. Also means there have been no mood swings. One step at a time. PM me if you want more details. It's a particular brand of e-cigarette and it's not the cheapest one, but has so far been well worth it.
  14. They do cut mums' hair too! The screen that the kids have for watching peppa pig is also a CCTV screen, so the kids can go to the playroom and you can have your hair cut while watching them on CCTV! I wouldn't get away with it with my little boy, but if yours are mildly well-behaved, it might be quite a pleasant experience!
  15. I used to go to an aerobics class run by a lady called Vicky. It was great. It's called flex and stretch but it's just an all-round aerobics plus toning exercises class. Its on a wednesday night. More details on her website: www.fitnessformummies.co.uk. Don't be put off by the "fitness for mummies" thing. The Wednesday night class is suitable for all. I really recommend it.
  16. Look no further than the Victoria inn. It has a kids room with toys and everything! Here's the website: http://www.victoriainnpeckham.com/pub/kid's-room.aspx Victoria Inn
  17. I went when I was pregnant and the evening one was at 6:30pm on Thursdays. No need to book, just turn up and go up to the labour ward. The Monday tour is some time during the day.
