There is a public meeting on 19th March to discuss 'replacing' the stolen Hepworth. Here's the email from the Head of Parks:

Subject: Replacement of Barbara Hepworth Artwork in Dulwich Park

Dear Consultee

RE: Replacement of Barbara Hepworth Artwork at Dulwich Park

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to a public consultation meeting to identify a suitable plan to replace the above artwork that was sadly stolen late last year from Dulwich Park.

The good news is that the artwork is insured and it has been decided that the budget from the insurance funding will be ring fenced to provide replacement(s) artwork in Dulwich Park. As such it is proposed that the open consultation meeting will focus on:

1. Identifying possible locations for future artwork

2. Discuss options for commissioning of new pieces of artwork

The meeting will be held on the 19 March 2012 at 6.30-7.30pm at the following address:

THE PARISH OF ST BARNABAS DULWICH

St Barnabas Church

40 Calton Avenue

London SE21 7DG

Please can you confirm back to Paula Powell ([email protected]) that you will be able to attend this meeting.

Best wishes

John Wade

Parks and Open Spaces Manager

    • Thought others may be interested to help a local community centre help others.    My bank account offers roundup and it’s been growing all year. As well as treating myself or putting it towards a train ticket to see my family I’ve made a donation to the Albrighton. They can use donations at any time but I hope my donation will go towards the Christmas hampers.    Can you support them so they can provide Christmas hampers?   https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/albrightoncommunityfridge?utm_id=1&utm_term=M22JKQb6W   A donation of £50 will pay for a hamper to feed a family over this Christmas period. • I've never got Christmas pudding. The only times I've managed to make it vaguely acceptable to people is thus: Buy a really tiny one when it's remaindered in Tesco's. They confound carbon dating, so the yellow labelled stuff at 75% off on Boxing Day will keep you going for years. Chop it up and soak it in Stones Ginger Wine and left over Scotch. Mix it in with a decent vanilla ice cream. It's like a festive Rum 'n' Raisin. Or: Stick a couple in a demijohn of Aldi vodka and serve it to guests, accompanied by 'The Party's Over' by Johnny Mathis when people simply won't leave your flat.
    • Not miserable at all! I feel the same and also want to complain to the council but not sure who or where best to aim it at? I have flagged it with our local MP and one Southwark councillor previously but only verbally when discussing other things and didn’t get anywhere other than them agreeing it was very frustrating etc. but would love to do something on paper. I think they’ve been pretty much every night for the last couple of weeks and my cat is hating it! As am I !
