He's only pointing out the obvious Huge.

I mentioned the railway line from London Bridge to ED once... on a public forum! I will be kicking myself if scrap metal thieves nick the bloody thing.

I applaud such public service and can only hope razors keeps an eye out for all of us.

(P.S. - Don't mention the Shard - there's a lot of metal in it).

It might rain this week-end

Low and behold . .

The Bone heads in charge of the stuff should be sacked for negligence

How much was the Barbara Hepwoth worth?

Half a mi??ion (and some)

And in the deepest recession, with metal prices at an all time high & thieves up and down the country stealing such stuff, they left it there (near on) unsecured

Unsecured?!! I don't think so. It hardly blew over in the wind did it? What do you expect - 24hr security guards? By their nature - thieves - steal, regardless of security, thats why they're thieves. Surely the issue is addressing the free for all scrap metal dealers, and Court sentencing that actually acts as a deterrent rather than removing public art, or providing expensive security at a cost to the tax payer. Tackle the problem at its source, not its symptom, and not at the expense/inconvenience of the innocent law abiding.

DUH

1/2 a million pounds worth of sculpture left planted in an unlit park.

And no it didn't exactly blow over, but then again it wasn't exactly secure was it

However, talking about it as we are here or on the NHF didn't make it disappear either

You don't write for Jonnathan Creek do you ?

And who was the first to raise that possibility on this forum....?

To continue the Latin motif - tua culpa me old mukka.

    • Thanks all!  KateS - boulangerie Jade is a nice cafe, but they don't do fresh cream cakes. Their eclairs are filled with patisserie cream (a kind of custard), not fresh cream. Azalea- thanks and I've been to Bunhead Bakery (a Palestinian bakery) in Herne Hill a few times. There's a nice chocolate bun they do, which is amazing when then sauce is warmed up. But I haven't seen any fresh cream things there, only white icing. Maybe it's only on a certain day.  And the last time I checked, Ayres bakers in Nunhead don't do fresh cream things. These are the kind of fresh baked goods I'm thinking of....
    • Warning to parents using the playground in Dulwich Park. My daughter and her friends found a bag of ‘crunchy powder’ in the children’s playground this morning around 11ish. They thought it was ‘popping candy’ and all tried some before seen with it. Request to parents using the playground - if you see plastics bags with suspect looking contents or powder on the floor in the playground or park: pick it up and throw it in the bin. Don’t walk past and think someone else will deal with it. The next person to walk by might be a child who could pick it up not understanding what it could be. Hopefully our daughter and her friends will be ok and it’s a lucky escape. But please be aware in case anyone else’s child may have found it before them.
    • I’m looking for some ply sheets, ideally 9mm or 12mm. It doesn’t have to look good. As long as it’s not rotten it’ll be fine. I’d like bigger sheets, but I’m open to whatever anyone’s got. If you can help, drop me a DM.  Cheers
    • the only known name is from that poster in the window where it says to email [email protected]. I thought that website might shed some light on who is creating the posters I hope whoever was attacked is doing ok, but agree there is something very off/vigilante-ish about all of this
