Street banners

I think there should be more of them. Every lamp post on Lordship Lane and all the side streets would benefit from the picture of an old man, or a church (that is in Peckham) or a totem pole (which is on Peckham Rye. No matter that some trees are obscured. Who needs ugly trees that constantly need upkeep and drop ghastly leaves all over the place?

Without a doubt the PR agency that came up with the slogan 'Me and ED' will be getting an award for their campaign. It certainly gives me a feeling that I now belong to a community that I have foolishly neglected to notice that I had belonged to for a number of years.

And in general terms, we need more signage, yellow lines and more announcements, and they should all be louder.

Can we have some more cafes too? I feel there are gaps on LL where shops have interupted the flow of coffee bars.

It was a photography campaign. People submitted their photos of ED and they were all displayed in the gallery on Northcross Road. The ones on the banners are the winners. I think it was a very sweet thing thing to do and the winners must be proud. :-)

The photos are fine.

Personally I don't like the banners. Personal taste, but I think they would have looked better all the same colour.

There is a lot of street clutter. I'm not a massive fan of these banners either, but not the end of the world.

I've not noticed anything recently either, but then I've learned to ignore most Council signs and banners since Southwark's 70's early 80's campaign to declare itself a "Nuclear Free Zone".

I'm not usually looking up at street lamps when walking down the street.

I'm usually looking down to avoid dog poo.
