jollybaby
Miss JB has always been quite a cheery independent soul but over the past few weeks she has become increasingly clingy. She wants to sit on my lap constantly and whines and cries if I leave the room for a second. It's making it impossible to get anything done around the house and the days seem very long. She's even gone off cbeebies!I know it will pass but would be grateful for any tips on how to survive this phase. Is there any point in trying to resist/encourage independence or do I just give in to having a toddler permanently on my lap? She's fine when other children are around or when we're out and about so I'll try to make sure we have lots of play dates and activities to break up the days. Reassurance and advice very welcome. susyp
Could she be teething, I seem to remember back teeth coming in about this age ( could be wrong - was a while ago!). I had days like that and still do with a nearly 4 year old - it's a phase !Susypx Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/22640-help-clingy-18-month-old/#findComment-533011 Share on other sites
BellendenBear
It's probably just her way of telling you that suburbia's not her thing. Maybe you should come back? jollybaby
Oimissus bit slovenly here too - maybe my post should have read - she won't let me surf or read trashy mags! Bellenden - will book you in for surbuban play date and Suzy just seen a couple of canines poking through so maybe teeth are partially to blame. Beagle
I too have an 18 month hold and I could have written this. It started 1 month ago and Daddy just isn't cutting the mustard right now. It HAS to be "Mammmeeeee". It started when the two if us went to visit my parents for a week without her dad.I'm trying to make dinner/wash up with this little body between my legs like a forward in a scrum. Hopefully it is a short phase as I have no solutions only empathy and a degree of reassurance that I am not alone.
