diable rouge
No idea whether that court case will be successful or not, but in this age of post-truth politics there certainly needs to be more accountability for politicians telling outright porkies in order to win votes... Angelina
can we please have them all accountable for everything they do - rather than telling lies on a specific occasion Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/227063-who-will-be-the-next-prime-minister/page/2/#findComment-1341621 Share on other sites
VelvetBlueberry
I think we need Lord Varys in these troubling times.I wonder what he'd say about all of this... JohnL
Lord Varys is Sajid Javid (not really just the bald head as there's no personality similarity - or is there ?) I think Boris might be Stannis Baratheon. Jules-and-Boo
No, it will not be boris johnson. Would the tories REALLY seek further humiliation? To be honest, they should go and hide in the cupboard until the can bring themselves to apologise. NewWave
I rather hope its Penny Mordaunt. Although I'm not a Tory at least she had the b**ls to take part in the tv series 'splash' (i think thats the name the diving challenge programme) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/227063-who-will-be-the-next-prime-minister/page/2/#findComment-1341807 Share on other sites
malumbu
Going slightly off thread (and risking being a hypocrite) just watching the Thatcher documentary. So divisive - will the next Tory Leader have a similar effect or are we there already? Oh dear I need to set up a new thread.... dbboy
Please NOT Boris, he's a walking liability, hence why he's being kept away from the press, you only have to see what the Foreign and Commonwealth Office thought about him as he was the Foreign Secretary. Just imagine, (no it's to hard to contemplate) him and Corbyn at PMQ's, Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/227063-who-will-be-the-next-prime-minister/page/2/#findComment-1346129 Share on other sites

uncleglen
I expect the RED shoes were borrowed from Corbyn...Lorraine Kelly and her ignorant attitude just about summed up the lefty stance for me. diable rouge
Johnson has graced us with a Radio4 interview, said that the UK will definitely leave the EU by the Oct deadline, that he doesn't want No Deal/WTO, that there doesn't need to be a hard Irish border, that the Brady 'alternative arrangements' can be discussed after we leave. And so the Mayesque clusterfuckwitteryfudge continues, saying one thing to one wing of the Tory party and another thing to the other... Alan Medic
He doesn't want to leave without a deal but he can't possibly say how he would get one by October 31st. No coincidence that he's not going on Sunday's Channel 4 debate where Rory Stewart will attend, who will openly question Johnson's unicorns. He's gambling that RS won't make it past the next round on Tuesday and therefore won't be in attendance at Thursday's BBC debate... malumbu
It's a fun distraction (BJ not appearing in front of the camera) but he's playing it sensibly (he's not the oaf we make him out to be). Anyone else with his record of philandering and Prince Philip gaffs would have gone long ago. Of course many of the gaffs are engineered to endear him to the conservatives and Conservatives who collectively are in the majority across the country. Much as I detest Farage unlike BJ he has some integrity.I was hoping to find a clip of his face when the referendum result was announced/became clear - OMG what have I done? Is this apocryphal? I saw him speak about London's ambitions to clean our air when he was Mayor and hisimportant role working with our European neighbours. I'm more inclined that he was pro-Europe (even if to further his own means) until the referendum presented him the opportunity he now looks like taking. That said I'm still worried, not sure that we will have the autumn election, and all his stuff on avoiding blue on blue is just a smoke screen. He is the chief agitator. diable rouge
Johnson is also the only one to avoid the 100+ political journalists 'Lobby Hustings' questions on Monday, so he's not only dodging the TV camera debates. Can't see that going down well with the hacks...
