I will be in The Rose from about 7pm.

Wearing an olive green fleece with a zipped collar and black trousers, a black duvet jacket will be hanging off the back of my chair.

Its cold.

(Edited when I realised that I had said that I would be "in the Fox", which is very disturbing)

A good night with 9 people, including two new attendees who were made most welcome.

A few drinks in The Rose first and then next door to Omrith.

Omrith does seem to struggle with large-ish groups. One starter was cold and had to be sent back, it had possibly been prepared and then left while the rest of the starters were prepared.

Feedback on the quality of food was variable, some enjoyed, some not so much. Mine was OK but did seem a little congealed. Really, it took too long for food to be brought to the table.

Still, we were given a free drink when the bill was presented, 25 pounds each, inc tip. A little more expensive than others.

SO - Next month its Veer Zara http://veerzara-eastdulwich.co.uk/

I had a meal there a few days ago having not been there for a year or so. Previous experiences had been disappointing but my recent meal was good, so lets give it a go.

Meet in the EDT at 7pm and on to Veer Zara at 8pm

I think Michael P. summed it up well..

My starter Sheek Kebab was cold and on return was dry. Vindaloo was mild and sauce was a thick sludge.

Peshwari naan was fine.

Was a bit disappointing but these things happen.

All the LL curry house seem to have good and bad days..

We all got Orange segments . After eight mints and an on the house Brandy / Liqueur

Restaurant was nice and warm. Staff were friendly.

Quids, Declan either come to curry club or b*gger off and play your stupid games elsewhere.

It is precisely this kind of behaviour that gives the impression of an exclusive clique and puts new people off.

So, turn or shove off.

So, you are Declan. You were the only one of the two of you to use your given name as your original Forum name, so, no revelation there.

Many people post on this thread. Only two post items that are nothing to do with the Curry Club, its activities or their engagement with the Curry Club.

Is your ego so huge that other threads simply cannot contain it?

I will try and come to the next one. Next time I see you on the train I will say hello.

    • There was an excellent discussion on Newscast last night between the BBC Political Editor, the director of the IFS and the director of More In Common - all highly intelligent people with no party political agenda and far more across their briefs than any minister I've seen in years. The consensus was that Labour are so unpopular and untrusted by the electorate already, as are the Conservatives, that breaking the manifesto pledge on income tax wouldn't drive their approval ratings any lower, so they should, and I quote, 'Roll The Dice', hope for the best and see where we are in a couple of years time. As a strategy, i don't know whether I find that quite worrying or just an honest appraisal of what most governments actually do in practice.
    • They are a third of the way through their term Earl. It's no good blaming other people anymore. They only have three years left to fix what is now their own mess. And its not just lies in the manifesto. There were lies at the last budget too, when they said that was it, they weren't coming back for more tax and more borrowing. They'd already blamed the increase in NIC taxes on what they claimed was a thorough investigation. They either knew everything then or they lied about that too .   They need to stop lying and start behaving. If they don't the next government won't be theirs, it will be led by Nigel Farage.  They have to turn it round rapidly. Blaming other people, telling lies and breaking promises isn't going to cut it any more.
    • Is it lame? Or is it Lamey? (sorry)
