Watsons General Telegraph proved to be a success, good beers, nice atmosphere and good music. Plenty of punters in evidence, so hopefully it will be a success.

Omrith too was a success. Eleven people seemed to challenge the speed of service a little but the food was generally considered to be very good, without the oiliness of excessive ghee that can sometimes be experienced elsewhere.

The new Young Gentleman Friend of one of our number was greeted enthusiastically some time into our evening and (I think) was given some food on the house. This and the free drinks that we all received at the end, proved that Omrith are most gracious hosts.

We will go again and sooner this time.

Next meet is on Thursday 3 March. Curry Cabin at 8pm.

Meet in Franklins bar at 7pm.

    • Anyone can deliver for Evri - my daughter having just passed her driving test tried Evri to make some money - they basically give you a route and as many parcels as they think you can cope with - you make money for each one you deliver, so you can imagine - speed is the priority. Why would they wait for you to answer the door when they can just throw it and take a photo? If you have a choice, choose a different courier service or shop elsewhere where they do.
    • Boil - it’s the customer’s fault, not the delivery person’s.
    • A bit of a long shot but I'm on the lookout for a portable pop-up counter or podium.   The kind you often see on a high street, used by charities or utility companies to advertise their wares.   I've included a photo to give you the idea. I'm a peckham-based artist and am looking for one for a free (and non-profit) community art project.  It can be in any workable condition and can already have signage on it as we will remove and redecorate ourselves.    Thanks in advance, Linzie
    • No I absolutely did not - that much is clear. Have you read the latest stories about Unite, Len and the hotel in Birmingham? The UK electorate were smart enough to reject a far-left party in 2019, let's hope they are smart enough to reject a far-right party at the next election too. If not we are all doomed.
