Hi there,

I?m a 3rd year med student looking for part-time/fulltime childminding work this summer. I live in East Dulwich and studied at Alleyn?s. I have lots of experience with children through babysitting/childcare and having many little cousins! I?m a responsible and reliable employee and am happy to help out with any summer homework etc as well as caring for your children. I am also trained in Basic Life Support (1st aid). I have lots of pets so am okay with them too.

Please do send me a private message if interested :)

    • They haven't said it's because of "lack of money", they have said it's "uneconomical to repair", which is quite different! If they had spent a lot of money repairing it, some people would be complaining about that!  I assume (and it's just an assumption, as obviously I am not privy to their thought processes) that they have decided that  the amount of money necessary to repair it would be better put towards a completely new bridge. The money spent on the  refurbishment of the Dulwich Village junction is irrelevant, surely?  I don't know how council budgets are worked out, but surely these two budgets must be completely separate pots of money, and they  can't take money from one pot and put it in the other pot ? (sorry, I don't mean to sound as if I'm explaining this to a three year old). Well, we don't know that without knowing all the details, do we? That's a very big assumption/accusation. Though I agree that on the face of it, it doesn't look good if the bridge has become unfit for purpose in such a short time.
    • Whoever authorised the building and the spending of all that money is clearly not capable of doing their job.
    • On the market for a bike, send photos if you have one to sell, thanks.
    • Niko came to the house this afternoon at quite short notice, to replace a pair of knackered tap cartridges - the units containing the on/off flow valves. The hard water gets to them. Which he did in a few minutes, before - at his own insistence - there and then sorting out two other plumbing problems: another pair of failing tap cartridges, and the seriously clogged-up drainage away from my kitchen sink and washing machine. Expert, brisk, thorough, generous - in a word, professional. And his charge for all this (parts, labour, time) was extremely reasonable. He is a master plumber and a nice guy. Niko clearly deserves all the commendation he receives. He is at 07818-607-583. Lee Scoresby
