Beware nesting rooks

Yesterday morning when walking back from yoga around 7.45am, two massive rooks swooped down from nowhere and attacked my head and neck. It was terrifying as at first I thought I was being mugged. My neighbour heard me scream and came out to help. She said her elderly mother had the same thing happen the day before. I've never heard of birds attacking people before but others have since said that they have been known to do do this when nesting. There was a whole row of them sitting along the roofs and chimneys all squawking - very scary - know how Tippi Hedren felt! I've reported it to Southwark Environment as I couldn't think who else to go through.

Seagulls do that but not heard of Rooks doing it - until now.

I had a similar experience albeit in Austin Texas. I walked under a tree and was swooped on by a flock of rooks. It was so violent it knocked me to the ground. Pretty scary.

Bloody hell. Glad I didn't know about this when I recently went to The Rookery at the top of Streatham Common.
